Superstar in Huntington is currently having a big GI Event with tastings and cheese pairings. Got myself some KH, 2011 BCBS and BCBCS. They seem to have their entire lineup. Get there while it lasts!

Damn it, I was just driving back to Queens from that direction. That's what I get for not checking BA in the morning.

I cracked my first bottle of BCBS 2012 last night, and it was good, but honestly not as amazing as I remember. I got to taste the 2011 keg today - now THAT'S the stuff. I like it much better with a bit of age, so I got myself a small growler. Really nice event.

ALSO: I've received several BMs from people asking if I could pick up an extra King Henry for them. Unfortunately, I've already left, and they also had a very limited supply so I really doubt they would have sold me more than one. Otherwise would have loved to helped out some fellow BAs, but just not possible. Sorry.

Just the ones I listed - KH, growler of 2011 BCBS and some BCBCS. I'm trying to stick to a budget - I got to try all the others, and enjoyed them, but not enough to do further damage to my wallet. Oh, got some fresh flower power, too.

I'd be all over this. So far... That is awesome though.

That's a really awesome event. I'm halfway thinking about taking a drive over there, but doubt there would be anything left by the time I got there.

Ended at 4 - Doubt KH or Coffee is left, but I bet most of everything else, including the 2011 keg.

BTW, does anyone know how long the BCBS growler will last? It's a 16oz, and I'd rather not rush it, but don't want an oxidized mess either.

I stopped by at 230 and scored a KH (i think it was the last one they had) and a coffee along with 2 32oz 2011 BCBS growlers as well as 16oz fills of imperial IPA and minx. They also had bramble, big John, 3 sisters, fleur, and I think even a few bottles of rare. It was fairly mellow when I was there. Enjoyed some samples got my beer ate some cheeses and other assorted snacks. Another great event by superstar. Really great operation.

    Their growler prices seem outrageous

for a 64oz growler (as the picture stated)?

I don't believe I could get those beers (if they would even fill a growler of them) at Goose Island Clybourn for that price.

    Cheers!

Yeah, by the oz, the 2011 keg was cheaper than a 4-pack of 2012.

Dude - you should totally not promote things like this...

Don't know if you went last time (in the spring; it was even more epic) - those guys do a great job.

But seriously, don't tell people... I mighta been able to get two King Henry's if they didn't have so many people expected...

When those five beers are aged bourbon county stout then absolutely. Haymarket in Chicago charges roughly $45 (somewhere between $40-$50) for their Indignant Bourbon Barrel Stout and Destihl out of Bloomington Normal is up in the $50-$60 range for growlers of their sour beers.

I paid $25.99 for a few four packs of 2012 BCS Stout ($30 with tax), so that price point is pretty close to what I would have paid for the same beer (only the current version not an aged one) on the shelf in Chicagoland.

However, to each their own, if the price is outrageous enough then it will last longer. All in all I think the prices being charged here are great for an event done when many of these beers haven't been on shelves for months to a year.

    Cheers!
