Awesome sounding hops combo. Getting out of work early today, hope it lasts until ~5:00.

Shit, sold out already! Got caught up at work and didn't go. Oh well, will console myself with some Other Half DDH Mylar Daydream.

That's just getting old and stupid. Most of their releases don't sell out that fast. Consider the date (day before Thanksgiving) and the fact that their taproom was closed by the town and only recently reopened. I for one am happy for their one-day sellout (first one since re-opening) and even though I was on the way there to pick up cans when it did, I don't just think of myself since they certainly deserved the good fortune (yes, beer karma at work, despite the town screwing them). Consider that the release almost lasted almost until closing. Releases should be publicized. Good for Kevin and Sand City! I'm sure the next can release will come out soon.

To late to edit :grimacing: and should have been: "Consider that the release almost lasted until closing."

Does anyone know what the hell is going on with Sand City?

Show up today to grab a drink and fill some growlers. Go down the alley to see like 25 people waiting on line, figured I must have missed a can release or something, but that’s not the case. After some waiting a guy comes out and says can’t wait in the alley at all, and can’t let people inside because of a 49 person capacity? There is plenty of room inside so obviously this limit was set on them. Can’t even fill growlers or anything, and can’t just loiter in the street so pretty much everyone just left. Is the town squeezing them out?

I heard them grumbling about the fire marshall coming by recently. Seemed like the guy working the door had never done it before, so I imagine this is a pretty new thing.

Between the deck problem and occupancy problem, seems like town squeezing them. Great brewery, well run, bummer that they are dealing with this bullshit. People who wait in line for cans should be on their best behavior, all it takes is a couple of residents to complain about line shares and could lead to BS problems for brewery.

    Too soon?
Beach Front Avenue is friggin delicious. The pineapple looms over everything, but the citrus from the Azacca, a little bit of bitterness and just a slight amount of malt makes this delicious. The mouthfeel is perfect for the style. Actually getting a little mango as it warms up. Really solid collab.

I don't believe so. I got it at one and there was plenty of both left.

Not sure what the story is and don't want to speculate or start rumors, but if sand city didn't want a line for a release, they could easily sell stuff midweek with no announcements as they've done in the past. Any big release they've done has been by design. I imagine the issues the town is giving them is only motivating them to move. Here's hopung the move is at least as convenient as current spot. Would suck if they end up far from this spot.

They can brew in my backyard if they are looking for a new space.

Definitely feels like the Village is squeezing them. They are a successful business that brings revenue to the Village, but brings "undesirables" to the "cant-do-wrong all-american" homestead.

Local building, fire and zoning codes are essential for proper, safe and efficient planning in a developed area, but some times they are arcane, outdated, and only serve to restrict economic gain for small businesses.

In a perfect workd it would be accessible via LIRR (but I draw the line at more than 1 transfer from the Long Beach line).

The Horus and Finback collabs are some of the best one-offs they've done since Man Hands. Would love to see that Barrage collab again.

There was definitely something wrong with my 4 pack of Best Seat. It tastes like onions and I think it was infected.
