Ok, this may seem like a dumb question, but knowing full well that if you're not among the first 100 people or so, why would anyone get in line now and stay overnight versus early tomorrow morning?

Because no one knows how much prop or Vr there is. Last year there was enough for 200+

I was headed down there but decided against it when I heard this craziness. Maybe the warm weather or higher allotment has something to do with it. But the Chicago beer scene which I'm a part of is out of control. Especially for a chance at a beer you can buy online for $200. Just my 2 cents.

 

The line can be deceiving. I was at the corner before it starts going down willow st and was 0087 in line once all the tents were taken down.

 

Yeh when I went last year - thought it was close to 300 and we were 180

 

Last year I assume? Did you get a VR or Prop '14? Was there enough last year to get to 87?

I suspect this year's one case each is a hold back from last year to help generate buzz. Looks like it's working.

 

This totally. The tents make it seem like many more people than it actually is.

 

You have to remember that a lot of people coming to LP are from out of state, especially with the generous LP allotments this year. Shoot , I'll take a wild ass guess and say a good 1/3 of the people in line are from out of state. So with regard to BF it's much more than a Chicago phenomenon. Although Chicago is already crazy to begin with, no doubt.

Right, but this year the line went north and around wisconsin before hiring the back, a much longer distance.

 

Planned on hitting LP Binnys for a chance at a vintage early morning but sounds crazy already. I’ll continue drinking with family and get whatever I come up with tomorrow.
