I got in line right at 5, tickets ran out about 20 people in front of us. Shit went to hell once the line started moving.

Until Binnys decides to ticket or wristband upon arrival to limit line jumping and such...thinking I’ll stay away from LP.

Good luck to those near cut off. Hope they have 1200 alllotments to account for this type of tough situation.

yeah it's kinda bs but what do you expect with an unorganized system, people are going to suck.

Wow. They did everything they could to push people to LP and were totally unprepared for the increase

Agreed. I'm still gonna drink through my cellar and pick up some stuff I happen to come across. But my days of actively seeking out beer through Facebook posts or waiting in line for releases is likely over. It's too much of a time and money-suck.

They need to be giving out numbers on arrival and have somebody at the end of the line directing people. You can’t line up 1200 people in the dark without adult supervision and expect this to work.

smooth sailing at non event Jewels in the western burbs. They only had regular & Barleywine, limit 2 reg or 1 reg 1 BW. hit 3 stores, sales started at 8, left my house at 7:50 & was home by 8:30 with 5 reg & 1 BW. no lines at any location & I'm happy with my haul.

    lol lamentable, I know. :stuck_out_tongue:

To be specific, Reserve was much hotter, more like whiskey than bourbon, and noticeably more raisiny than regular.

Anyone hoping for a Rare-like experience, it's exactly the opposite, less decadent and woody, and more like a Jack and Coke.

This pretty much sums up this cluster. EDIT - sideways, just like this whole morning. Perfection.

Montgomery binnys ran out of Northwoods first, then reserve - few folks ahead of me. So, fewer than 50, had to be there before 6. Lamesauce. Time for my second breakfast!

I lived in Illinois for 18 years before moving to Michigan and for thanksgiving I was back for the holidays. So this morning I woke up and decided to give this hunting a shot while everyone was still asleep.

Bottles at Jewel where I bought Bourbon County were $9.99. At 730am there were no lines and they started selling at 8am due to the liquor law in Prospect Heights and Arlington Heights. Fairly easy to obtain, however there was a 2 bottle limit and they sold out within 20 minutes of 8am. May have gotten lucky but I wasn’t expecting to get my hands on any, very excited!

Got in line 15 mins after my place opened and got every variant. Went back through and got every variant again. Happy dance and I’m back in line.

Did they sell you one of everything? Bloomingdale switched and made people choose between northwoods and reserve

Surprisingly small allotment of Prop, Northwoods, and Reserve at Binny’s Grand. Northwoods and Reserve gone in 10-15 minutes. Prop soon followed.

    Yeh exactly my thought

This would be my solution. They should do something to stop shenanigans and make an effort to let people know where the cutoff is so they don’t waste their morning.

Out of Prop, Reserve, and Northwoods. Line out onto Grand still, may still wrap around to Franklin, but is moving well.
