Nope, full allotment until they ran out. Looked like only a little prop left for the people after me, and a little coffee after that.

Yep, as an example, I found Triple Barrel Baptist and Big Bad Baptista sitting on a shelf days after it was released.

Highland Park Binny's report out: looks like they had 2 cases of Reserve and Northwoods, 4 cases of Prop. Sounded like Coffee must have been around 6 cases. I was #62 in line. Interesting side note, people started lining up at the Half Price Books and the lines intermingled for a bit. Made for some fun listening to the beer folks making fun of the book line and the book line making fun of the beer line. Worlds colliding...

Walked into a Jewel in Aurora at 8:30a and me and a few other guys who walked in were able to get two cases each. They only got one case of each of the BW, prop, and coffee but looked like a whole pallet of regular.

That’s like choosing between brussel sprouts and pizza. Not a tough decision

What are the limits on regular and BW? Hoping to stop by for scraps after work at 1pm.

My report from St. Charles: got there at 7 and walked away with 4 regular, coffee, and Prop (I rejected barleywine like I was Dikembe Mutumbo). They only had 2 cases of NW and Reserve and you had to be there by 5 to get those. They had 5 cases of Prop and probably 8-10 coffees which was a change from last year. The suburbs were a good move this year as it turns out

Anyone know if the ticket distributor at LP was checking IDs? A father is walking the line with his son who looks between 14-16 and trying to sell his sons ticket for $100. Ticket number is around 820 and with a guy with a grey beard and a blue Michigan stocking cap, late 40s or early 50s

Dude walking around selling a ticket for $100. Got a taker about 12 people back from me. By my estimation, his kid was in line with him and he sold his ticket or something damn close to that. Stay tuned folks. If I can't get a full allocation I can at least entertain you all.

They most definitely were not checking IDs.

Wow. I think Reserve is a legit great beer. I don’t think NW is even good tbh

So, if I summarize the experience so far:

LP binnys is a post-apocalyptic, lawless wasteland of broken dreams and line-cutters.

Suburbs binnys had earlier turnouts than usual, and limited supply of reserve and Northwoods.

Jewels were a crapshoot between meh and amazing.

Beautiful weather, nice folks in line, and we’ll see what the future tells us about the trade market for the 3-12 hours most of us spent in line...

I think Reserve is one of the best beers I have had in a quite some time. Someone earlier in the thread was saying it wasn't good, I was just curious.

Northwoods is fine, I could share it with three friends, but certainly not as solid as Reserve.

Stopped at the new Binnys in North Riverside. Got there at 9:15 with about 75 - 85 people still in line. As had been hinted at, their supply of variants (Reserve, Prop, Northwoods) was very small and went quickly. Surprisingly coffee lasted awhile, but by the time I got in it was gone. Did have plenty of regular and barleywine left and as I was there for the barleywines I was happy.

The real winner of the morning were the conversations I overheard including an older couple in front of me (50s - 60s) talking about how their son had them stopping at Jewels picking up regular and then told them to go wait in line at Binny's to get him the variants. They had no idea what they were even buying ... it was hilarious. They left as soon as it was announced they were out of variants.
