I had Northwoods on tap yesterday and it was really good.

I'm only aging 3 cans from last year, I prefer the regular fidy with a few years on it. I want the bitter finish to smooth out just a little bit,

Do we know they actually dumped it? Does it look like the bottles have been relabeled?

Possible, but I thought 2015 Regal Rye w/Blackberries was one of the most vile things I'd tasted, when I had it on tap the day before Thanksgiving that year.

I cracked open my only bottle in early 2017 in a beer share expecting to hate it but actually... it blew me away with how well made it was. Hopefully the Northwoods is similar. I'm waiting a while before I open it.

Curious the cost everyone saw for the Knob Creek variant. Store near me had it for $100 which seems crazy.

$29.99 at the NoVA TWs, and the 10% off coupon they email out every other day worked on it too.

K, we get it...ur SD distro (especially in ur metro) is subpar for what you'd like. Can you please stop sh!tt!ng all over this thread about it? I grew up in SD, so the fact that they even get BCBS is a huge step forward from what I had for options growing up there. Cheers

Less a comment on SD specifically than the puzzling distribution and non-distribution of variants, as reported by others all over. Granted that variants are much more limited and it's more work for distributors to distribute any beer at the sub-case level. Many areas of the country get no variants while others seem to have lots of it. Granted, might make some sense from GI and distributor perspectives.

It should tell you to stay away from thst beer store in the future. They don't have enough volume to amount to jack shit in total revenue in the year to justify that, they're just screwing a customer.

I made up my mind this year I was not going to wait in line for BCBS or any variants.

IMO, Its a great barrel aged stout in a world of great BA stouts.

While picking my orders from The Bruery and Bottle Logic I stopped by Mr. K's. They didn't sell out, got a BCBW, and 2 BCBS. Accidentally bought 2015. I don't usually buy vintage beers. Oh well. I suspect I'll stumble across more BCBS, and buy more. But waiting in line for it is a thing of the past for me.

Side note: Visit Mr. K's if you visit The Bruery. Great bottle shop that you can walk to from The Bruery's parking lot.

jakecattleco, I see nothing wrong with bbtkd voicing his puzzlement about distro. You, on the other hand, are very likely projecting your own 'sh!tt!' on bbtkd. If you go looking for 'sh!tt!' (I personally saw none in the post of bbtkd), then my guess is you don't have to go too far to find it: try looking at your own posts. In other words, chill dude, and, erm, have another, perhaps?

I saw coffee, barleywine, and northwoods in Grand Rapids area. Now I wasn't close enough to the front of the line to buy it, but did see it.

100% agree and had not heard this from other folks. I have four left and basically no desire to drink them. They were sensational fresh.

$25.99 in Twin cities. Wasn't expecting it to be around, figured it would be closer to Rare '15 price.
