BCBS 2017 NYC Releases

Had pours of 4 of BCBC yesterday at Croxleys. This is how I rated them:

2016 BCBS > 2017 BCBCS > 2015 BCBS > 2017 Northwoods

 

Anyone know of any places with any coffee bottles left?

Just some info about Top Hops for posterity's sake. Arrived around 815 am, I was number 74 in line. By the time 900 am hit, maybe 20 people after me. Doors opened at 900 am, they were letting people in ten at a time. Got in the door at 1000 am. They had 20 bottles of Northwoods (obviously cashed by the time I got in) and 156 bottles of coffee. Left with a coffee and a couple barleywines, will get regular at my local Key Foods.

Totally worth it to wait in line for a guaranteed coffee. Next year, might just roll up at 900 am. Also, BCBS release here is waaaaay more civilized than Chicago (moved from Chicago to NYC last year). I cannot believe how regular BCBS sits on shelves here for weeks on end, in Chicago the swarms of beer nerds clear out stock in a couple hours. Nice feeling not having to stress.

 

Snagged one around 1130...gotta ask for it....not sure how many they had left ...1per for coffee, 2 BW

 

Malt and Mold LES has coffee and Northwoods too today and at their Gramercy location tomorrow.

 

M&M LES had all 4 variants left, nobody's here for some reason. Told me he got 6 NW and 1 case of Coffee. I'd head over now if you want a chance of grabbing one. They had a couple Rare too.

 

With Rare priced at like $120, what are the variants going for? Sounds like they split a case of Northwoods between locations.

 

30 for Northwoods, 20 for coffee

 

Luckily i live about 1.2 miles from M&M. went right over as soon as i saw this and grabbed a coffee and Northwoods. They had 8 coffee left and 2 NW

 

Greenwich village farm is pulling the ole annoying (and illegal) "you have to buy additional beer in order to have the privilege to buy Coffee for $20," I left mine there, enjoy.

 

Anyone know where to score some regular in Brooklyn?

 

I saw some at Prospect Heights beer works and my foodtown in Kensington. Unfortunately they're charging 19 and 17, respectively,per bottle of regular.

 

I haven’t been to prospect heights beer works in forever since I moved out of that area. Glad to see they’re still price gouging like crazy on “limited” releases. Do these stores not realize regular BCBS will be sitting on shelves at $10 bottle all around the city?

 

Key Foods in Clinton Hill and further down the street at The Fulton Growl/Associated Fresh Market. Plenty of regular and might have some BW left.

Despite the claims further up this page Brooklyn was shut out of any BCBCS as far as I’ve heard.

 

I'm far from any kind of expert, and I could be wrong, but I think it's unlikely Brooklyn was shut out. Astoria Bier and Cheese Ditmars in Queens got a case of coffee (it was raffled) and I know typically Queens gets even less than Brooklyn does of these releases.

 

Nothing about this years release was “typical”. Did Milk and Hops even do a release this year?

 

Are there currently any variants from any year on tap in west village tonight? On way now to meet some ppl

 

They’re definitely awful. Hopefully their customers realize what you say. I was still seeing loads of 2016 at neighboring spots for 6.99 just a month ago. BCBS is terrific but not rare at all around nyc.

 

Yes, their sister bar in Astoria which was posted right above you, did do a release. Yes.

For those not reading all the posts.

-20 cases of Northwoods hit the city (possibly all 5 boroghs)
-only 5 or 6 kegs of Northwoods hit the boros. (Top Hops, Dive Bar, Astoria Bier and Cheese), not sure where the others are
-Cases of Coffee the number has not been explicitly, and yes, some did hit Brooklyn, as my friend picked up a bottle of it in Bk on friday (no, i do not know where exactly, and would share if i knew as i picked up coffee in multiple places friday)
-2 Cases of Reserve hit the city and WILL NOT see shelves, they were given away to bar owners, and some other 'special' people as a thank you/gift.
