Little late, but arrived in Monterey for Thanksgiving at 12:30 on Wednesday. About a case and a half left of Good Conduct, limit 2. I imagine they got a lot less than the other tasting rooms? Was hoping for 4-6 to be able to share the love a little more, haha. Wallet was happy with the lower limit, though.

I've had their Galaxy Juice in a crowler almost 8 weeks later, and it was drinking better than when I had it on tap the day I got it filled.

I'll be in LA this week for work and trying to find a way to get down to monkish. Was thinking I'd only be able to have some draft since I'm a little sketch about packing a growler in my suitcase. To bad monkish doesn't crowler.

Problem is that my wife is joining me on the trip so I'll have to be sneaky with it lol

I think it's a matter of: Did this brewer optimize this for fresh drinking or for cans that last a lot longer?

I don't like Monkish beers fresh, and I've visited 3x. That's why they age better, because I feel like they aren't optimized for that.

Fieldwork is inconsistent. The Gal Juice batch I was talking about was especially green when released, so I knew it'd taste better aged. But other times Galaxy Juice was fantastic right from the get go. But things good immediately, tend to drop off when you sit on them.

    So it depends.

I have yet to have the pleasure of enjoying a Fieldwork beer. That will change in 2018.

Do you live near Berkeley? I've got some Destination Unknown cans to get rid of. It's a fine Fieldwork beer, but I'm an active runner, so I drink infrequently (around once per 10-20 days). Right now I have too many beers, and will have to give some away, and if I can't that means I'll have to throw them out.

Yeah, I know. It drives me nuts, though, when I regress as a runner. Way more than wasting a few cans of beer. But I'm sure I'll find some one to take the cans. I'm boarding at a frat after all...

Damn. The longest I've ever let a growler/crowler sit is maybe 4 weeks. That's haze or og wcipa. I think the haze will last longer sitting than a og ipa.

Yea but you've let a certain bottle of ipa sit over 5 years if I recall correctly...

It wasn't me who let it sit. My bud brought it over for Super Bowl 3 years ago when it was already 5 years old. 2 bottles that is. We opened one. The other one is sitting in my fridge waiting to be opened at the 10 year mark > Super Bowl 2020. Or I may take it up to RRBC with me and show Vinnie the vintage bottle.

I'm not joking though... Pliny the Elder has a huge drop-off. I drain poured a bottle after 2 weeks.

I'll be at FW Sac Wednesday evening for a major King Citra pick up. Hope they have cans but I'm bringing 2 growlers. Any other BA's going to be at Sac for the King Citra release? I've had this almost every time they've produced it and this one is worth a detour.
