Only one brewery currently operating in Casper. Frontier. And its flagship is a dark rye.

I'm curious to see if any of yours brew a flagship that's a bit away from the "norm ".

Cape May Brewing Company's flagship is the Cape May IPA, and it's a pretty consistent decent beer. I'll probably write a review for it soon, it's fantastic on draft.

Beanhead coffee porter put my favorite local on the map some 6 years ago when they opened with that beer, a pale ale, a Scotch (their description) ale, a hoppy red ale, and a IIPA. No real flagship for Rushing Duck, though all their originals are still offered on a regular rotating basis, along with another twenty or so styles they do equally well.

What I like so much about the local brewery here is the constant rotation of beers & styles they have available. I don't know if I'd qualify any as a 'flagship' to be honest, but if I had to pick one as a flagship I would say a beer called Lil Shimmy Ye'. A Pale Ale whose ABV ranges from like 5.7-6.3 depending on batch, I believe.

Their Stouts & Saisons are fantastic though, and I'd support one of those become a flagship! hah.

Sierra Nevada, I think when Pale Ale was produced it was much different than most other pale ales, today it is the standard.

Four Winds Brewing in BC, they have a Pale, IPA, Saison, Pilsner, Lager, Session IPA and a Wild Saison as standard year round multi-pack beers with a Berliner Weisse and Oat Porter that seasonally rotate; as well they have a Dry Hopped Sour and Wild Ipa as year round 22oz. Typically they'll have 4+ beers on rotation too, all kinds of stuff.

Year round Wild IPA, Dry Hopped Sour and Wild Saison are pretty unique flagship beers.

All except Nimtopsical, I haven't seen it recently. It was a favorite of mine.

Really? Huh, bad news, thought I saw it about 7 mo.s ago, but you're right, not any recent visit. I bet it comes back on again now they have so many taps.

Interesting topic as so many breweries feature IPAs as their flagship beer these days.

    Around here -

'Gose' is likely Lost Nation's flagship, and a damn good example at that.

    and

'#9' is a darn near undrinkable apricot pale ale.

I'll take a whirl at naming some KC local flagships.

    Boulevard: Wheat
    Cinderblock: Cinderblock IPA
    Crane: Orange Gose
    KC Bier: Dunkel
    Martin City: Hardway IPA
    Torn Label: Hang 'Em High

Kinda tough to limit them to one each as most of those small breweries have three beers on the shelves at any one time as flagships. That's my best go based on what I see available on tap, and shelves and what's going the fastest on tap.

Not sure I could name Border, Double Shift, Calibration, Colony, or any other little breweries flagships, as I haven't visited enough. BKS is too new to really have a flagship (been open three weekends).

Cellarmaker doesn't have a flagship... they brew whatever they want, and it changes everytime you go. That being said... Coffee & Cigarettes (smoked coffee porter) is brewed 3-4 times a year, which is more than most of their lineup.

By local I'll assume that it's closest by car, and I can get their stuff at the shops. For me there are two candidates -
Defiant, Pearl River, NY: Dunkel Lager

The Alementary, Hackensack, NJ: Munich Helles Lager

I live in rural PA, so Tröegs is actually the closest. That, Otto's, or Rusty Rail. I would have to say Perpetual IPA!

Tröegs Perpetual IPA is a great beer, although I really like their Crimson Pistil as a summer go to.

How are you figuring local on this one, Dave? Is RD the place you visit the most?
