Sierra Nevada Narwhal

I win again.

 

Haven't had a chance. I will later today when its socially acceptable. I was at a wedding most of the day yesterday.

Also, my friend official coined drinking a bottle of it ”Riding the Narwhal.” Haha.

 

I was invited to a wedding yesterday but had to work.

 

It's Sunday. I'm pretty sure it's socially acceptable to start drinking three hours ago.

narwhal is replacing hoptimum so its distribution is pretty large i just got a case in my store here in NC about a week ago. not moving that fast here but it hasn't gotten cold enough here on the beach(people are still looking for summer beers). Popped my bottle last night, lots of delicious dark chocolate and bitter bakers chocolate which worked well with the black coffee and hop profile. there was a bit of booziness too, which i was a fan of. nice for posting up around a fire on a fall night.

Yes.. I want some of this Narwhal..... I've seen Hoptimum all over the place so I'm guessing this won't be to hard to get.

 

Grocery shopping at HEB was hoping to see this.. they still have plenty of Hoptimum but no Narwhal yet..

 

Drank one on Saturday. I thought it was average at best. Brooklyn BCS is a better beer and cheaper.

 

People who enjoy hop-forward impy stouts (think Storm King) will enjoy Narwhal a lot. A little to bitter for me, personally, but I think it'll improve greatly after a year or two. Not sure about other markets, but it should be pretty easy to find this beer in SATX.

 

Narwhal starting to show up in DFW. Lonestar tweeted that they had it today, so assuming others will be seeing it soon too.

 

The Common Table tapped Narwhal and Brown Shugga last night as well...fyi.

 

I've seen it at Spec's on Bay Area.. picking some up next week.
