Missed out again this year. Oh well. I refreshed for about an hour and everytime I got it in my cart it went sold out again. Pain in the ass.

    I think you both misunderstood.

    1) The site went live well before they posted on Facebook and it appeared folks were buying tickets.

    2) If you searched BPT for "Westbrook Brewing" or "Barrel-aged Mexican Cake" or any combination on BPT after it went live, you got nothing on the search results.

    3) I follow Westbrook on FB and there was no notification of their post.

    4) I've been following this thread multiple times per day for the past three weeks and I got no notification of anybody posting about this.

It was all really weird that so many things failed to notify me. I actually just happened to click on their FB page when I saw it almost 2 hours later. Crazy enough, refresh, refresh, refresh, and I"ll be getting BA Cake for the second year in a row.

Typically the link goes live before the post goes up on FB.

I can totally understand the frustration, but seems a lot better than standing in line all night/morning and leaving empty handed.

@Bryan71 the link was not searchable last year either. They set it up ahead of time and each year someone has leaked the link. Last year you could click on it but the link wasn't live it was just a placeholder. Why it was live early this year is beyond me.

Anyone have a recommendation on where to crash overnight? Ideally around some of the more recommended beer stops for the area?

Also, any places with decent craft offerings that'll have the SEC and Big 10 games on Saturday night?

Edmunds Oast and the brewery will have the games on...Moes Crosstown is a killer spot and will have some good stuff on draft. Those would be my go to's if I were headed out to watch the games. Coleman Public House will have the games on as well...

From last year. Will there be all variants and some older variants on draft? I know Maple Cake was not on for release day last year. Also, do they space the tappings or do they tap everything at open until its gone?

Westbrook setup a tent outside the last couple of years and beers were poured inside and outside. There are plenty of variants tapped throughout the day including vintage BA Cakes and regular Mexican Cake variants so you can show up at anytime and get great pours. Last year Maple Cake wasn’t poured and the previous year it was Pappy and DB Chocolate that were left out but in general the variants are available.

What kinda shit show is the pick up? If a man gets there right at 11 how quickly can he get in and out with his bottles?

If you’re just picking up bottles, 15 mins

Not really a shit show for pickup since they let you pick up anytime during that day. I’d imagine a small line right at 11 but most people will be there for the pours first. Last year i got there about 30 minutes before opening (not doing so this year, because it’s pointless), got a draft pour and the bottle line was empty by the time i finished my drink.

Super easy. since the pick up is all day, a lot of people wait until after they hang out and drink to grab beers. if you get there right at 11 I'd say you can be back out by 11:15ish was my experience last year.

Anyone know what scotch barrels and what wine barrels were used?

Since it said Highland Scotch, I would guess Highland Park. Maybe the 12 Year.

The Port did not specify anywhere that I’ve seen.

I love scotch, but I am not a scotch aficionado. That said, as I understand it, scotch is usually "highland" or "speyside." For example, Macallan (and their malt) is speyside as I understand it. So, the highland refers to the region and the malt, not the Producer (highland park in your post).
