Call him back and tell him you work for Goose and have received many complaints about dishonest tactics and threaten to pull his BCBS allocation....

Oh Christ. Why come on here and tip people off. That's why I usually don't and never will again. Found a place yesterday with Coffee, BW, 16 BW at good prices and Zombie dust but no way I mention it here.

The variants weren't badly priced. But I don't need to buy 3 more regular or BW at a $3-4 increase. Would rather hit up WF or Bottles and Cans where everything will be reasonably priced.

Then why mention this at all? I never understood giving other BA's the runaround - if I find a place that has something that most of the users on here are looking for, I gladly let them know where I found it, and what time I got it.

I do that next thing you know a place that's been fair to me over the years is being threatened by some internet dork saying he's going to file a complaint about them.

If you are a store owner and next thing you know on a random Thursday people who have never once shopped there come in for the same item you may stray from the truth too.

Nobody is questioning why you stray from the truth. The question is why you felt it necessary to come here and gloat about the store with no intention to tell anyone else where it is.

You missed the context of the post.

I did that a few days ago, came here tipping people off about reserve and NW available at Lively then again today by asking if people went there. 1hr later someone is threatening to report them.

Lesson learned, I can't give out secrets anymore.

Buying the BW was the near sticking point for me, but I thought they were only $2 increased...not $3-4. I've now ended up with just about the same amount of BW as I did last year and opened one up the night I bought these extras...and remembered that I actually liked it.

Plus, we all know these bottles should be priced higher, so I'm just helping with that. <kidding>

I think you missed it as a joke. Even if it were serious, I don't think you need to worry about one person making a call like that interrupting your relationship with your store.

I think a point is why blatantly lie? If they want to only sell beer to favored customers, be upfront and tell customers this is your store policy. Yeah sure, there will be those who do not like the policy but be honest about it. To me, lying is the worst policy.

You didn't though. People had to ask you what store you were referring to, and even then you gave out a "hint". Sure, people can put 2 and 2 together to figure out you're talking about Lively, but what's the point of making unfamiliar people look up liquor stores around Mikerphone?

Thats because its a grocery store. Stop berating employees over your beer needs. It is well documented what WF release are like. You will need to be there very early for any shot at any varient. Their page is very clear as well. If you have a questions speak to the liquor manager only. If you still dont have your answers its because they probably dont have much and dont need a BF Part 2 on their hands.

It's part of the hunt. It's literally 300 feet away from there. Without actually naming it. Everything one needed to deduce the location. You're welcome.

    The page even explicitly says
Yeah I get that many BCBS-chasers despise BCBBW and get offended when it's the only variant. As mentioned, WF is a grocery store which happens to sell alcohol and I'd guess most of each store's staff have no idea what it's about save for the incessant phone calls they've been getting this week.

Ugh, fucking Lively. I stopped going there over a year ago because of that dumb shit. I went in there on Monday and was also told no Northwoods or other variants.

Alot of hostility, defensiveness and devisive behavior the last few pages of this thread. Thats a required theme it seems throughtout the threads on BA. Ive seen "context" mentioned a few times in previous comments, yet the context of this thread (like most on beer advocate) is going off the rails.

I get alot of us are upset that we may have missed out on acquiring some variants, and misled on a few chases... but it shouldnt equate to all this hostility. Ive seen very little praise of the actual bourbon county beers (outside of prop being great and northwoods being an acquired taste), so more of those opinions would be awesome. Cheers everyone and happy (continued) hunting.

There is a really easy way to not have to worry about all this crap with the stores not selling you variants etc.

Pick one or two smaller stores. Shop there all year (buying 6 packs and non highly allocated stuff). Get to know the owner \ Beer manager. On Black Friday sleep in, laugh at the idiots waking up at 2am, roll out of bed around 11, walk to two local stores. Have them walk to the back room where they held you an allocation. Buy said allocation from both stores. Swing to jewel for a case of regular. BCBS shopping completed.

No need to complain about a store you have never visited before not selling you a variant they have in the back room.

For what it's worth, this is a good option if actually available, but doesn't work for everyone. So yes, if you have stores in your area that are close enough for you to frequent, and that get your "required" allotment of beer, befriending the owner/manager is a great move.

On the other hand, befriending the manager at a place that doesn't get any variants won't help you very much in this scenario.

I had a good conversation with another BA'er about this, but it's really not that easy. First off, not everybody can do that...if we did, it'd flip the whole scene upside down (those small shops can't handle everyone's business & allocation). Secondly, I'm still waiting to hear of one of these shops in the city that does that at a fair price.

Mind you, I'm not frustrated or worried about all the crap that goes on with BCBS. Do I wish it were easier? Sure, but I don't get that bent out of shape with the current setup.
