The Half-Acre thread (2018)

Agree 100%. This was the first IPA that my wife didn't recoil on sight at and I definitely didn't buy enough as a result! Super smooth, really enjoy it.

Additionally, I think it's one of their coolest can designs in an already cramped field of awesome can designs.

I know people that used to dislike Simcoe hops a few years ago. That Hop is way different today than it was in 2014.

Also, there are tons of ways to utilize hops.

I’m not trying to patronize anybody. All I’m here to say is I trust Half Acre and am rarely let down by the quality of liquid I drink from them.

Then again, I have never claimed HATE against any certain hops.

 

I've had Equinox and/or Enigma hopped beers from Half-Acre, Trillium, Veil, Aslin among others... all I get is green onions or V8 vegetable juice. I have about as much desire to have beers with those tastes as IPAs with peppers (see Habanero Sculpin). So for personal reasons, for someone that likes IPAs like myself but doesnt like a blend of vegetables in them, anything with Equinox or Enigma is just waste of a brew.

You are free to enjoy it and drink it all you want. If anything, people should be happy that not everyone likes the same things. It makes those offerings available and easier to obtain for those that do.

 

I gotta say, I'm not lining up for Big Hugs, and I don't have room for more beer glasses currently (sadly), but damn if that Big Hugs glass isn't giving me second thoughts.

 

Agreed, I saw that and I want it a bunch, but I'm not waiting in a line.

Glass looks sick

 

Unfortunately I'm not alright with dropping $180 on Big Hugs pre-sale tickets. That glass looks sick, and I definitely want one of each, but the BPT link gets you 6 bottles, and 2 4-packs, no exceptions. Here's one guy who won't get in your way while you're refreshing your browser!

Same story, but wife looked at CC balance. I was afraid to. I have an Enchilada ticket in my cart for another 6 minutes...will probably pass on it though this year.
