Yeah - you and @Chuckdiesel24 nailed it - such silly marketing/sales stuff. With tax it was almost $30, which is still a great deal to get both since they have not been distributed previously in IL.

 

Lame. My Meijer only has a giant end cap of BCBS Regular. Craft beer 2017 blows.

 

Bolingbrook Meijer has it, they are on an end cap of the holiday liquor packs in a center aisle near the produce.

There were maybe 12 there when I went two days ago. I picked up two.

 

No I agree, seems like a cool gift pack but Meijer's 'sale price' tag is indeed absurd. I've seen it on some of their other non-beer stuff so it seems to be something they do regularly. Knock that price down 50¢ and break out the yellow tags!

Binny's Grand may have CBS left still, and they've got Abyss variants on shelves. Dosvidanya, too.

 

There was a case of CBS hidden in the back at the WF in West Loop. A few BA 10/50 too.

 

Yeah, I got there around 8:45, and there were probably 30 or 40 people ahead of me.

Shoutout to the boys and girls at Grand, who were ready for this. They had 3 or 4 lanes doing checkout, and the dude handing out CBS was pointing out other good shit they had in. Grabbed a few Dosvidanya Ryes out of the back for us, as well as Velvet Merkin (which I passed on).

 

Think they still have cbs?

I doubt it, it was basically allotted to the line at open from what they said. I had to hurry in and out.

Not sure how much more they had. People were constantly coming through the doors, so while I don't think it all went to people in the initial line (I'm actually sure it didn't, because I watched a guy walk up out of nowhere and say "I'm here for CBS, also, I'll have one of those...Velvet Merkin? Is it good?").

Yeah, my bad. I keep to myself in lines usually (because I'm ducking out of work unofficially, so gotta move move move!), but I should start at least pointing out what I'm wearing (because I'm always missing BAs at these releases). I had a gray jacket w/hood and a black Sox cap on. Chances are I will almost always have that on, or will switch in my black FFF cap.

 

Lakeview Binny's had plenty of CBS left after the initial line moved through about 20 minutes ago

Yeah I was in the same boat, er, I mean, I met my friend for coffee...

 

Yep. I struck out at Jewel this morning (the one on Division sold out 3 guys before me; my fault for thinking 7:05 would be early enough), and set down to my desk thinking I was out of the CBS race.

Got an email that my boss was working at home, promptly ran over to Binny's Grand.

Every once in a while, the Beer Gods are looking at for me!
