You could pick 1 of any 3 available variants. You could not get multiples of prop or reserve, etc.

Me, and the 6 people in front of me bolted over to Jewel as soon as they said Coffee was gone!

It was kinda funny. I stayed another minute or so when the guy said something about checking the back, but left right after that and ended up behind the same guys from the WF line.

From one guy's count, I was #16 at LP WF and Prop ran out right in front of me. Reserve and Northwoods were already gone. I walked out with just 2 coffees.

That certainly is an interesting theory, and very plausible in the City That Works. But even if they gave them all of the price premium (say $11 per bottle), over a dozen cases that's about $1600. Hardly seems worth the risk for either party! Given anecdotes about the scarcity of Reserve/Prop (at least compared to other years), it just seems like distribution of variants is being spread thinner than in the past and has been poorly handled. Maybe the number of different variants available made a difference when it came to store allocations?

I really hope I'm wrong, but the likelihood of a big "second drop" of anything but regular is looking grim this year.

As has been pointed out many times:

    1) Not everyone works a 9-5 job

    2) Even for those who do, some have a flexible enough job that they can make these beer runs work

Don't get me wrong, this shit frustrates me from time to time (I'm not camping out at 4am on a workday), but it's not just the jobless crazies that are grabbing these beers.

Plenty of people wake up between 4AM and 5AM for work ... so you get up a couple hours earlier and show up at the release, grab the beer, then head to work. Its not that complicated.

I talked to a suburban WF employee after getting 2 coffee and a BW at LP. Was told they were given the option to buy one of any bottle. She said a Prop box came to the store but none were released publicly. I get it but that’s a bummer. Makes me wonder how many bottles didn’t make it at the giant stores that have a ton of employees....

I'm guessing you mean they save them for fellow employees and not to randomly put out when they feel like it

I had fun at Jewel, thanks for giving us the heads up, I was there for about 2 hours and had 3 pours of prop. $10 for a 10 oz pour was great.

At least 10 cases of regular BCS on the floor at WF Deerfield as of a little bit ago - no limit.

Do you remember the price? Only took two of four regular on BF at Binnys before I even knew the price, and at $12 I was glad I did. Now looking for a couple more for friends if I can get them for about $10.

They were listed at $11.99 each. I was out of town for Black Friday and missed out on all the hunting, so I was fine with paying a little bit more to at least get a couple and not have to bank on a second wave hitting (although it probably will). Hope this helps!
