A couple CBS left at G Will Andover

 

This was one that, for me anyway, needs to be warmed a bit.

Right off the tap it tasted no different than KBS. A little warmth brought out more of the maple.

 

One of the workers told me today their distributor sent out 15 cases of CBS and they got 5 of them somehow, pretty crazy considering I seen a few higher profile stores in or around the cities say they got much less.

 

Did you get it at HopCat? If so, is it looking like it might last an hour?

 

That's exactly how it was a couple years ago when I had it on tap. Cold, it was nothing special. That's my opinion on a lot of bigger stouts though.

 

So many liquor stores in the north west metro still waiting on their delivery of CBS today. Most haven't been happy about it from talking to them.

 

A buddy and I cracked a bottle this afternoon, It's a damn good coffee/breakfast stout a notch above KBS but the maple could really be more prominent even after letting it warm I still wanted more sweetness/maple.

 

I did. I didn't ask how much they had left, but it's only 5 ounce pour with a limit of one, so I'd assume it'll last a bit.

 

CBS at TW Bloomington now. 2 bottle limit at 25.99 per. They said they got a lot of it, but didn't give exact case amount.

 

HyVee Cottage Grove has CBS. Limit 1 at $26.99.

G-Will Liquors CG has CBS as well. Limit 1 at $24.99. They also still have Black Note and Darkness.

 

I got 2 at Oakdale Hyvee around 10:30am, 1 at CG Hyvee around 11 and 2 at Dennis Bros in CG around 1

 

Seems like there is a lot of CBS around, this pleases me.

 

I'm really impressed with Founder's handling of this. It appears the budget busting price of this amply supplied whale has really kept the demand in line.

 

As someone else already said, it's definitely supposed to be a shot at AB. I mean, the logo and font is identical to what Bud Light's used to be before their whole retro re-branding they're in right now. Modist definitely fits the bill of the stereotypical craft brewery that AB was taking shots at a few years ago in that infamous ad.

Great IPA nonetheless!

 

I forgot to include BCBS in the list of what else G-Will Liquors CG has. I think the woman said limit 4 ($10.99), but I didn’t care enough to confirm.
