Another oddball strong brew by DFH...but definitely way better than the abomination that is Higher Math

So last night after our band practice, the bass player approaches me and asks, "Have you ever heard of Sam Adams Utopias", and I'm like ... yeah, why? He says, "I've never had it before and we were talking about it over Thanksgiving". My response was, "Call your wife and tell her you won't be home for awhile." And so it went ...



... and then shared this gem with him thanks to @Zaphog :



And tonight? Met up with a friend at Yergey Brewing in Emmaus, PA (10 minutes from my house) for a few beers, first time visiting here so had to start with a flight ...



Lots of catching up with my friend and a few other beers later at Yergey, now back home and here we have real time, like right now in my glass, s'more local lovin' ...



A decent brand new Double IPA from Victory with tons of citrus but somehow reminds me of Hop Ranch which for some reason tasted like cat pee from the Citra hops , this one is more refined but sorta reminiscent.

Stagger Lee approves of pretty much every beer I drink because he wants to stick his face in them all.
I on the other hand, am not so sure about this one. I'm getting a prickly, almost sourish feel from it. It's not terrible, but I'm not sure if I'll go for another.

I'm down for it man. It's good to see how it is aged and fresh.

 

High West is sooo good! If you bring that, have a spork in each hand and have at it! I used 5lbs of beef so there's plenty.

 

Like I said, cheapskate's bourbon barrel-aged beer wars.

 

Sorry friends, kinda getting wasted. Thinking back to 1969 (you fuckers were not even born yet--just a twinkle in your dad's eye). Anyway, I won the the military draft lottery (yes there was such a thing). Number two. Not sure why but this song made me crazy.
