Its West Des Moines. I got the name of the place. Its along the jordan parkway. As far as i know. Never left jersey. No idea of that area.

 

I'm about halfway through the howler of CBS. Time for some hops to break it up. The CBS is incredible but it's really rich. I wish they did 12 ounce bottles. Fortunately, even if I don't finish it tonight, it will be waiting for me tomorrow!

Good evening, all! I stopped in at HyVee Wine & Spirits about an hour ago to pick up a few Christmas beers and jokingly asked the guy if they had any CBS left. He said they were out (of course), then called another store to see if they had any left. They had one, which they said they'd save for me. I ran over there straightaway and picked it up. I'm afraid our next bottle share is going to be more top-heavy than usual. In addition to the CBS, I have '15, '16, and '17 BCBS, '16 and '17 w00tstout, and Double Bastard Bigger-Longer-Uncut, plus some others I've been saving. Although I'm more than happy to provide the beer, I just know that my friend who hosts these is going to drag out a bottle of '17 Darkness and God knows what else. (One time it was Johnnie Walker Blue. ) I think it may be time to download the Uber app. Do they allow dogs?

And apropos of nothing: as I was trying to make room for the CBS in the pantry cupboard, I noticed a half-full 200-ml jar of Firefly moonshine on the shelf. Odd, because I didn't remember drinking any of it. Turns out the lid had worked itself loose, turning my jar of 100-proof 'shine into half a jar of zero-proof (give or take) water. Moral: Liquor in jelly jars is a bad idea.

Oh, WBIADN? None. I'm drinking water tonight. With antacid tablets on the side. Enjoy what's in your glass, because I am drinking vicariously through you.

Last yrs Lagunita's was very good. Have not had the Boulevard. If you see New Holland Triple grab it-a killer imo

 

I knew I had strong fingers but when I mangled this can simply trying to open it I got concerned about the actual strength.



It's OK though. Matt Lauer's girlfriends told me they're just right. My fingers that is.
