If you're looking for a coconut bomb, I've found Oskar Blue's Death by Coconut to be pretty enjoyable

Liquor Junction in Reading has quite a bit of Barrel Aged Victory at Sea. $13.99 for a 4-pack.

I wandered into Lincoln Liquors in Bedford last night, seeking CBS. No dice, but they did have plenty of Triple Barrel Big Bad Baptist, Big Bad Baptista, and Second Fiddle.

Oh, and the Olde Bedford Package Store had Sip and Captain's Daughter out the yin-yang.

I drank one last night. It's extraordinary. Down to either that or Baptista as my favorite barrel-aged stout ever (among what I've managed to drink).

Edit: I originally grabbed one a couple weeks ago from the liquor store by H-Mart in Burlington. No idea the name of the place. It was $20, $19 at Lincoln. Shouldn't be terribly hard to find, and worth every penny.

My yankee spirits triple barrel says they got a shipment with more rum barrel than most allotments. Legit or bs?

Is it similar mouthfeel to ten fidy, just with coconut flavor? I've been tempted but still haven't pulled the trigger on this.

Nasty Nonnis has a 25% off on bombers. They don't carry many but it means you can grab Baptist for about $10.50 and Baptista at about $12.75.

Only have a few but worth the inquiry if in the neighborhood

It's a porter so it's a tad thinner than Ten Fidy but it's certainly worth a try, especially if you can get a single can

It's legit... A quote from Epic themselves.

“For the Yankee batch of Triple Barrel Big Bad Baptist, we wanted to really concentrate on the components that make this new beer unique- the rum barrels and the coconut, two ingredients never used in an Epic beer before now. Like all Baptists blends, the beer will also have coffee, in this case barrel-aged coffee, and cacao nibs, but in this blend, they take a backseat to the rum barrels and barrel-aged coconut. The first thing that makes this blend unique is the increased proportion of rum-barrel-aged beer we used. Most other blends feature about 15-20% of rum barrel-aged beer and 80-85% whiskey-barrel-aged beer. For the Yankee blend it is closer to 50% rum-barrel-aged beer. The burnt sugar notes and other characteristics of the rum barrels really accentuates the flavors from the barrel-aged coconut that was added to the beer after aging in whiskey barrels for almost four months. The coconut shines through more compared to the coffee in this batch of beer we blended for Yankee.”

Anyone see or hear anything about the Lagunitas Willettized Coffee Stout? The High West-ified six-pack last year was a highlight of the season even putting aside the absurdly reasonable pricing.

Nope, it really isn't. They're very different beers. Ten Fidy is like engine oil and DBC is like dark coconut soda. For what it's worth, I find that Fiddlehead's Hodad is super rich on the mouthfeel aspect and I keep hoping they'll can it again. (They keep saying 'sometime' whenever I ask at the brewery but there's a recent batch on draft locally so I hold up hope).

Thank you for replying to this thread. Is there any indication on the bottle differentiating the Yankee blend from the normal version available elsewhere?

There is a sticker towards the bottom that says it's a Yankee spirits batch.

Not a "Beer Shop Find" per se, but I grabbed a 6pack of Fort Hill Fresh Pick last night. Thats a great wee beer for under $8.

$8 is cheap. It's a steal at the $10 price you see in most places.
