I've been slowly drinking my case of 16's all year - last year was our first time at the party and I'm looking forward to it again this year. 16's have been great and haven't seemed to have changed much over the course of a year. Really tasty then and now.

This could be why some people reported problems and you and I have not. I store mine at about 45-50 too.

I’m passing through town with the family on sat evening....is there any point in the day I can walk up, grab some ba pt5, and be on my way?

That’s my question too. I was hoping to swing by at 2 and get some bottles and not wait too long. Is this a semi realistic goal?

Probably not. They spend the day filling the orders from the night before & early in the morning. It’s possible to roll by, put in an order form & roll back by a couple of hours later to grab bottles

For the most part, no. Maybe towards the end of the night you can stop by and only wait an hour or so, but it’s not really how it works. Your best bet would would be stop by the general store on Monday. The last few years they have had beer left.

They’ve gotten more efficient the last few years, but they’re still filling upwards of 700 orders, while working in shifts trying to enjoy the party themselves. If anything, your best bet would be to find a fellow BA that already had some and buy a 4-pack or 2 off them.

Definitely stay away from 2015, I had multiple bottles that soured after about 6 or 7 months. Still one of my favorite Michigan BA stouts though.

Okay, I was planning on being the DD this year, so I think we were going to stick around for a few hours and just enjoy the party. That should work for me. Thanks!

Dark Horse posted on Facebook that people can begin picking up orders at 10am Saturday, in numerical order. 50 orders per 1/2 hour, so assuming that 500+ people will show up on Friday, they'll be exclusively handling pre-orders until at least mid-afternoon.

Finally IN this year. Big DH fan and been to the brewery a handful of times but never the 4EParty. Just curious if anyone knows... doors open at 11AM Friday but they don't start handing out order forms until 6PM. Do you get a number or anything by getting there early?

Basically, at 11am the line starts forming, and the line becomes one giant bottle share until about 5.30. At that point, everyone starts breaking down their heaters/chairs etc. Up until this point, the word “line” is used pretty loosely. People are walking around bottle sharing, chatting, etc. It tends to police itself, especially now that the quantity is so high, and that there’s no danger of getting shut out. There still will be some douchebags cutting though.

At 6pm they’ll start handing out the order forms, and the order forms are numbered sequentially. You then turn your order form in and can pick up your beers the next day.

For what it’s worth, if you’re ok with being out in the cold, it’s the single best bottle share I’ve been to outside of dark lord day. The bottles being popped are great.

I couldn't agree more. Since moving it to Friday afternoon, I have always burned a vacation day. I will be there with an IPA from a small brewery in Pennsylvania, Yuengling, some home brew and a couple of goodies from my cellar.

Not new news, but just because I haven't seen anyone post it yet. Order forms are published, bottle counts TBA.

Anyone hyped for any of these?

Nice. BA Oil of gladness sounds great. I enjoyed the base beer.

Not worrying about the non-plead stuff otherwise.

Holy hit to the wallet....I was planning on hitting you up though to trade for one of everything since I can't make it this year :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I've only had BA Pt5 a couple times, but the talk of the actual party and wanting to revisit that beer makes me with I was heading up for this on Friday. Maybe next year, and I'll look for someone with extra BA Pt5 in the meantime.
