Funkwerks Saison should get the nod over their Tropic King, IMO.

And Jolly Rumpkin for Odell? Really? I would vote Myrcenary but was expecting, and would have respected, their IPA to get the pick.

My first thought was, Balls! There are a dozen breweries that I have never heard anything about. I need to get up there again.

Also, I still think Deceit is the best beer that Funkwerks brews.

Although it's not stated anywhere (I don't think?), pretty sure the data is taken from Untappd. The Coloradoan has done that with 'beer ranking' articles before.

I love Deceit and can't hate on that pick. But I am still going with their Saison.

(A couple beers in for the night and i got me some opinions)

It is stated quite clearly in the 4th sentence of the article that they combined the ratings of BeerAdvocate, RateBeer & Untappd to find the most "popular" beer.

    From the second paragraph:
Beer drinkers often weigh in on their favorites on BeerAdvocate, RateBeer and Untappd consumer beer rating websites. We combined those ratings to find the most popular beer at each place in town.

I think you beat me to it. My iPad is getting pretty old & slow, like its owner.

Don't feel bad...I live in the fort and still had to look up a couple of these places.

There are definitely a couple of beers on here that are only on here because they're the least bad. BUT...some gems, too. Notorious HOP was solid last time I had it, and you can't go wrong with any Zwei lager, Dunkel especially.

I'll only comment on places I've been several times and have tried most of their offerings:

Black Bottle Brewery: Scuba Steve --- meh. Their brown, Carlos, is my favorite, though I don't really think they have much worth trying over there.

C.B. & Potts: Big Red IPA --- not bad albeit a rather old school take on the IPA, but their Octoberfest is one of my favorite local, seasonal offerings anywhere.

Coopersmith's Pub & Brewing: Punjabi Pale Ale --- solid, also somewhat dated... but I agree its probably their best offering

D.C. Oakes Brewhouse & Eatery: Coconut Almond Porter
--- while they only really have like 4 or 5 beers, this one is excellent and lacking that sunscreen flavor I get from so many coconut beers

Equinox Brewing: Space Ghost IPA --- easily one of the best beers in town. Said it before and I'll say it again- there's never any 'duds' at Equinox though. Try everything there!

Funkwerks: Tropic King --- not a saison guy, so my ability to differentiate between the levels of tasty at Funkwerks is limited. That said- they make an incredibly good Helles that I typically get when I'm there. Not being a saison/Belgian guy, I still think everything they make is quite tasty.

Horse & Dragon Brewing: Sad Panda --- duh- its amazing. As much as I love Sad Panda, the rest of their offerings don't excite me much.

Intersect Brewing: Keys to the Kingdom
--- this is certainly a delicious kolsch, but Tramps Like Us (their NEIPA) is dynamite. Even before I moved to their neighborhood, I was a fan of Intersect. Definitely doing great stuff over there in a fairly wide variety of styles as well. My favorite of the newer breweries in town.

Maxline Brewing: Irish Red --- these guys are new and doing a great job too. The red is good, but I love Pat's Porter, Oatmeal Stout, and their ESB. They have a bright future IMO.

New Belgium Brewing: La Folie --- agreed. Love their Bohemian Pilsner too though.

Odell Brewing: Jolly Russian --- great beer, but how is the IPA not their highest rated?

Zwei Brewing: Dunkel --- sure its great, but how do you pick a best at Zwei? There's no other brewery in town where I have a harder time trying to figure out what I want.... aaaaand I'm never disappointed. Their lagers are second to none and they crush 'American' styles too. All that said, I end drinking the Vienna Lager most.

My bad guys. Don't read articles while drinking.

Jolly Russian is number 3 on BA, number 1 on RB, and number 1 on Untappd for beers with significant number of ratings.

Pretty sure most breweries could barrel age literally anything and get at least a 4/5. At least as long as nobody claims it's infected.

Why not? That's the best thing about BA forums and the linked articles.

I would drink Aurora water if it was aged in rum barrels.
