Elysian Great pumpkin and Hoppin Frog Double Hollow are excellent.

My overall opinion: It's so easy to fuck up but when someone does it right (lookin at you Schlafly) it's unbelievable.

Favorites include Schlafly and Steven's Point

Pumpkin is for pie, maybe a muffin or cookie, not for beer. I tried several pumpkin beers the past couple of years--Pumking, Punkin, the Hoppin Frog one, a few others I don't remember--and didn't care for their cloying sweetness at all. I'm curious to try a lambic version, but am not seeking one out.

I've had about 15 different kinds this year and I have to say my favorites are pumking (as always) and flying dogs' the fear ( I usually don't like anything from this brewery). I'm not sure what all the hype about Schlafly is. I bought a 6-er and had 2. The rest are going in the "we will get to these someday" pile of pumpkin beers that I have acquired this year. I also thought pumpkinhead wasn't bad. I'd pick up another 6-er of it.

Good gourd is also an awesome beer.

I love pumpkin beers, but living in Southern CA the selection is horrendous especially with regards to the east coast. Love Pumking and Weyerbacher, but can't get them here. Punkin' and Sam Adams are the staples. I wish the San Diego brewers would come out with something, but really it's the Southland brewers that are stepping up to the plate. Hangar 24 Gourdgeous is quite good though pricey, Autumn Maple (yams, I know, but similar style) is always a treat especially the 100% Brett version. I haven't seen Bootlegger's Pumpkin yet which I enjoyed greatly last year. I'm glad Kern River finally showed up last week, that and Epic's FWR serve as an oasis in the pumpkin beer desert. I'm thankful though it's nowhere near as bad as circa 2007 when Blue Moon Harvest and Buffalo Bill's were the 2 best choices around here.

I love pumpkin beers with pumpkin flavor. That means I love Rumpkin, Upslope's Pumpkin, and DFH Punkin.

I hate pumpkin beers that taste like chemicals and artificial flavoring. That means I've hated Pumking, Pumpkinhead, Sam Adams.

Best overall pumpkin beer I've had is Upslope's.

Starr Hill's pumpkin porter is the first one I've ever finished a whole bottle of, and it's not something I would willingly pay for. Pumpkin beers are probably my least favorite style and the only style I really have not found even a single example worth drinking.

Have you had Midnight Sun TREAT? I highly recommend it. This one might change your mind. Cheers!

I'm a pumpkin beer fan when done right, I'm drinking an Upslope Pumpkin right now...and this is how a pumpkin beer should taste. I haven't had Rumpkin yet, but I have two in my closet that I'm saving for a rainy (well, snowy actually) day. I'm sure i will be very pleased.

Pumpkinhead is the definition of how a pumpkin beer should NOT taste.

DFH Punkin and Unita's Punk'n are two others that I enjoy...I wish Denver got a bigger selection of pumpkin beers

Was in Squamish not long ago. Took a bottle of this to a tasting; tasty stuff. Though, I have to say, Schadenfreude from 49th Parallel was a very excellent pumpkin. Amazing flavor.

Great Pumpkin, Dark o' the moon, and Night Owl all from Elysian are my top three pumpkin beers to look for. Howe Sound Pumpkineater is also super tasty along with T.R.E.A.T from Midnight Sun. Anything else, IMO, isn't worth buying.

I do enjoy pumpkin beers but any more, anything after 12 oz or so and I'm finished, I have to switch to something else.

I've had Samuel Adams Harvest Pumpkin and Dogfish Punkin and did not really dig either. It's that fermented brown sugar and spice mixture that gets me. A lot of quads have it too and it makes me go "bleh".

I hope i get over it.

I assume that if you've had Howe Sound, then you have access to 49th Parallel. If so, I have to question your judgement. A lot.

The only pumpkin beer that I've had and even remotely enjoyed was Fisherman's pumpkin stout. Beyond that I can't wait for them to go away.
