Founders CBS tappings.....

Luekins over in Dunedin and Tarpon Springs got theirs today. They said the other locations should get it next week. Each store will set their own limits.

I've seen reports that on tap it's a little coffee forward and the maple isn't coming through well.

 

Not tried it yet, but acquired a bottle. My friends mostly agree that it is boozy with not much maple and not as good as the previous versions.

 

Nah, look for it on Monday or Tuesday (12/4 or 12/5)

 

I never tried previous versions...I had it on tap Friday...it's an excellent beer...chocolate and booze...light on the maple...

 

Still on tap from Friday night at the Brandon Brass Tap. Nice to not have to fight anyone for this one.

 

Lowe's Foods in Greenville had it on tap yesterday, 5 oz pour for about $6.50, delicious

Another CBS tapping in Charlotte. Duckworth's Park Road at 11am Thursday. Should a pretty easy way to get a pour if you can get there at 11.

Now they tap it... A friend and I showed up there Saturday when they opened hoping to get a pour. It was listed on Founders website but we should've known when the place was empty that it wasn't true.

 

It was Duckworths in Huntersville that had it on Saturday! LOL

 

Duckworths on Park has changed the tapping time to 5pm Thursday.

 

Mix it Up - Suffolk just posted they have bottles and taking phone reservations (1pp). nice price too @ $23.99.

A few of the tappings have come and gone (Ridgewood, House of Hops, etc.). Bottles have been relatively scarce (and places are doing raffles), but to @TomCat11's point, BottleMixx is having a bottle drawing tonight and next Wednesday (12/13) and 7 PM. Curious how many kegs made it to the area and if places are holding back?

 

I'm not too familiar with the Raleigh / Durham area but just did some quick seaching. Sam's looks like their are tapping their on the 18th along with a raffle for bottles as well. Every place in the area I saw a shop post about it is doing a raffle / lottery so it seems like you will just have to get lucky if you go to any of those events. I even saw Tasty released theirs earlier this week with a $15 mark up consumers had to pay with that extra being donated to a charity. I get it that no one is forcing a customer to purchase from them for that inflated rate but still not sure I agree with that tactic.

Anyway, where I live in Central Virginia bottles have been scarce too and I know of only one place that has done a lottery for bottles. Most places are just placing them on the floor when they get them or making the public aware what time the release will happen and then it's first come first served. Glad our parts don't have people running all over town going from place to place until their get lucky with a lottery system happening just about everywhere.

Sams in Durham is tapping a keg and raffle Monday and the Bearded lady in Garner is doing a raffle for a week starting tomorrow. Will probably hit a couple of these.
