I was on the hold list at Belmont in SB and got 2. The next day I hit up a different Belmont Beverage and got another 1. Every place I’ve been they’re keeping it behind the counter so make sure to ask

I've been all about Brew Link's Ivory Stout. $8.99 a 6 pack and huge flavor for a beer clocking in at less than 5%. Aside from that one - pretty much every non-orange stout from Deviate has been a winner.

I had a bottle a few months back (review is posted on BA). I was not a fan. The stout seemed oxidized and lacked body. IMO, Chocolate Taco is the best thing DT brews.

Had one some months ago and it was definitely pretty decent. However, for what they charged at their release, it's waaaay overpriced and I'd most likely never buy one.

FFF stuff aside, some of the good ones I've had have been:

    Central State - Tia Hugs
    Tin Man - BA Csar
Black Circle - Russian Imperial Stout
    Taxman - Death & Taxes/Evasion
Deviate - Anti-Clarity (all you taste are the adjuncts, though)

I feel like there's one or two I'm blanking on, but yeah.

I guess Chicago stout prices have dulled my senses to this stuff (I paid $25).

If the beer is great I won't give a shit...but based on the gross pixelated (not a word?) art I'm tempering expectations. Honestly, I just kinda like Pat's hustler mindset & don't mind throwing her a bone from time to time. (That last sentence sounds kinda gross, but it's all above board)

<3 for just about every sentiment there.

I'm giving out likes tonight like they are candy.

I went to the 450 North release today and had both Powdered and Gold Nuggets on tap. Both were good, nothing that different from the juice bombs they are constantly cranking out now. I don't know, I think the style has burned me out.

Cans of Gold were gone within 2 hours. Neckbeards as far as the eye could see

The pizza was the highlight of the day for me.

I dig Zwanzigz pizza if I'm out in that area. Not to mention how damn good their stouts/baleywines are. I've swung and missed 3 too many times on 450's beers.

Anyone had Deviate's recent Passion fruit Milkshake IPA? I plan on making a trip out tomorrow to grab a growler.

    I have not.

Has anyone tried the BA Tripel with peaches? I was not able to swing by to pickup a bottle, but I figure with it not being a stout They might end up with extra bottles sitting around.

Had it last night. It is similar to the strawberry version, so if you like that you will like the passion fruit version. I like it, but I think it need a little more lactose, or perhaps the lactose comes out better when it is warmer.

Deviate has a new cooler (to stock bottled beer) and as of last night there were 3 shelves almost full of Ticks & Peaches.

I stopped in and grabbed a fill of the Passion Fruit and last of the Kopi. The Passion Fruit is definitely similar to the Strawberry - a tad better in my opinion. I also splurged and grabbed a bottle of Ticks and Leaches. That'll be my Santa beer tomorrow night when I'm wrapping the kids presents.

And not to pile on 450 North but I bought a single of the Cocoa Nuggets at Parti-Pak since a pint was 2 bucks. I can't get into their IPA's whatsoever and it looks like I can add their stouts to the list. I got no vanilla out of it and found it to lack the typical sweetness found in milk stouts. Oh well.

Been meaning to ask but has anyone had Brew Link's barrel aged Ivory Stout? That beer alone in 6 packs has been my most purchased beer this year and one I can't get enough of. Just wondering if the ramped up version in barrels is as much of a winner as the non-barreled version.

I've been considering trying it since it just keeps sitting there, but I have yet to pull the trigger. Tried to ask the beer guy about it, but he has not had it and knew nothing about it

I definitely agree with your Cocoa Nuggets assessment. IMO they only stand out with the NE IPA style. They'll occasionally have a non-distro hit at the brewery, but they've clearly decided to just sit back and cash in on the haze craze.

Burn’em Brewing in Michigan City will be hosting its 3rd annual Long Johns On gig on January 13. This year, they will have 6 variants of LJO. Those who had the winter warmer aged in Woodford barrels with Cherries last year know it is something to behold. I am only wondering how many variants will be bottled this time around.

Another thumbs up for the beers being brewed at the downtown Indianapolis Rock Bottom. Had a phenomenal hazy IPA called "Tone it Down". Jason Cook continues his great work after moving down from the shuttered College Park location. This place is a real hidden gem for great beers in Indy.

Kills me that I couldn't also get the barrel aged "Niko Liko", but it was just a one beer afternoon for me after hitting the auto show.
