My parents are flying in for the holidays in a few weeks and I was really hoping to stock up on several top notch PNW examples of their favorite beers that would be preferably as fresh as possible. Recommendation welcomed: Nut brown Ale Triple IPAs (Russian River style) Dark Belgians Dubble/Tripel Thanks!
For a brown, can't go wrong with the classic Rogue Hazelnut, and I've come to really enjoy Fremont Bonfire. As far as IPA's, well triples might be hard to find but Block 15 Sticky Hands and Georgetown Bhodizafa are pretty damn incredible. And with Belgians, the only one I can think of right now is pFriem Belgian Christmas Ale. Hope this helps a little. Cheers!
cant disagree with the post above. Triple IPAs are rarely canned or bottled, although I seem to recall seeing one on the shelves the other day from a brewery Ive never heard of. Evil Twin molotov cocktail is on shelves right now. Growler Guys would be a great place to start if you are looking for more of a "local" (OR, WA, NorCAL) flavor. they usually have at least 7-10 IPAs of various ABV availalbe in growlers or crowlers. While there's been some fluctuation with recent batches, Boneyard's notorious continues to be one of the better TIPA's made in the NW (I would argue). While it's not bottled or canned, I know Growler Guys will do a crowler of it (if they happen to have it on tap when your parents are here).
Fremont's Bonfire is another good example of a local canned brown. Should be easy to find still. edit: Damn, saw Rogue mentioned but somehow ignored the Bonfire nod.
