Drinking a Boulevard right now. It's nice, but I'm just a provincial fuck from Colorado. I'm not some worldly god from New Jersey. Shit, I wish I was cool enough to live in Trenton. Maybe some day.

Picked up a bomber of Baptista; had one a couple weeks ago, and really liked it.

Also saw singles and 4-packs of BP BA Victory at Sea. Got a single for $3.89, and it's pretty tasty.

    Provincial fuck signing out.

Not sure if it's like this everywhere, but an absolute boatload of BA Ten Fidy at my local store. Do people no longer care about that one (non-rarz, bro!) or is that unusual?

I've made two separate liquor store purchases of BA 1050 over the last few weeks because its just sitting there and.. How could I pass that up?

Regular BA TenFIDY was produced in mass quantity and it does seem to be everywhere. I think it was the same last year too.
And of course since we can get it easily now, no one wants it.

And not only is it extremely good, but the price is very reasonable for 19.2 oz of liquid. And it ships well. And it's perfect for backpacking trips. And it's perfect for ski lifts (you can share!)

Not a porter or stout, but on the dark side:
Ursula's Rye Barrel aged scotch wee heavy ale: The Sacred Fire
I've had scotch ales but I'm not real familiar with the style, so I can't say if it's true to style or not.
Uncharacteristic of other scotch ales or even rye aged beers I've had, it's pretty heavy on sweetness. I'm good on that, but I know it can be an issue. Good and malty too.
If you like boozy, sweet and malty, give this one a try.

Had my fill of some very nice BA stouts in Colorado over the Xmas week. Bourbon double medionoche was outstanding but that was a huge beer. If you don't like Ba stouts heavy on the bourbon don't go after that one. Never seen coating on a glass like that either. Jessup Feats of Strength was decent, definitely lighter on the bourbon but a nice coffee flavor. Wizard Genuis was on tap at Hops and Pie and was a very nice ba stout with good barrel presence. Also got to finally try Legend of the Liquid Brain, always was gone during the periods I visit (usually spring and summer) but I really enjoyed that one and was glad I was able to find a few bottles. Bottom line, Colorado really is an embarrassment of riches with great beer from many places. Powder Keg was bottling one of the BA supervoids but it was members only and I was unsuccessful at attempting to be in the right place at the right time and get one, lol. The non ba vanilla supervoid was a great beer.

Brother brought me a Fancy Effing Stout from R. North and Dry Dock BA Coconut Belgian Dark for Christmas. The Effing Stout was...well, 'effing no for me. It's always good to learn new things though. Like stouts probably shouldn't be aged in vermouth and bitters barrels. That Dry Dock though, looking forward to that one. Thoughts on it? I sent him back to CO with a Cafe Deth. We drank the Rye Hipster Brunch and BA Big Hugs I got for him. Gotta make luggage space somehow...

I like the DD Coconut Belgian Dark a lot. It's probably only behind Bligh's (and maybe the hazelnut coffee) on their all-time bottles list. One of the only times where rum barrels works for me, too. Usually it just adds fire and sweet, but here it pads that coconut.
Drink any and all Big Hugs ASAP. Something with that coffee they're using doesn't age well. It goes from fresh espresso to Sanka after only a few months. That's a shame because the fresh stuff is pretty awesome.

Cool. Looking forward to trying it. And yes, that's why we drank the BA Big Hugs. The coffee on regular falls off fast, so wanted the BA version as fresh as possible. I find I like most coffee stouts fresh. Big Hugs is definitely one to drink now.

Picked up a single yesterday for under $4. It was incredibly tasty... decent barrel presence, chocolatey, a little sweet. Body reminded me of Dragon's Milk (on the thin side), but the taste is waaaaaayyyy better than DM. ABV was well hidden.

    10/10 -- will be purchasing

I am starting to see Elevation Oil Man variants like coconut and Vanilla popping up. Anyone try these?

Also curious about this. Saw Vanilla yesterday. I'm shocked the pastry posse hasn't nabbed them all. They must have bottled too much.

Saw Coffee Oil Man today...was very tempted but the damn 750 ml size kept me from buying. Like George Thorogood, I drink alone, yeah, with nobody else (to share those giant-ass bottles).
