How bad will the line be for Angels with Filthy souls? Will I need to get there super early? Was going to bring my father-in-law, but kinda want to know what to expect before subjecting him to a massive line/wait.

hard to know.. last year there was a bad storm and still certainly a line.. I would say roughly "swish level" lines, perhaps a bit less (but could be more, who knows?)

So I went to pick up some Nuclear today (Very good btw) and the parking meters are now fully functioning and there was a meter maid ticketing people. I was just running in to get cans but didn't dare leave my car so I paid the $2 for 5 minutes. Such crap.

How was the dirt (mud) lot? I imagine that will fill up first now. Hopefully they have plans to pave it

Nobody was parked there. And who knows, you probably have to pay to park there too. But people were definitely caught off-guard as a ton of car had tickets.

    A few quick updates...

Re: Parking = we are tenants here at Thompson's Point, leasing only the building itself. We have no control over the parking situation here, unfortunately... We've heard your frustrations and understand, but there's nothing we can do at this time other than direct your feedback to the folks at Thompson's Point... They have been paving certain lots, but I have no insight as to whether they will be paving the one directly across from our building... If you have any specific questions, please reach out.

Re: Date Coding = if you've picked up cans this week, you'll notice that we now have a date code stamper. Each can should be getting a date code inked on the bottom (dates will no longer be on the pak-techs themselves), so be sure to check cans for dates.

Re: Fourth Anniversary = thanks to all who came out for Nuclear Whim with the Fuse of a Mile. We really love that beer... Roll call for who will be joining us for the Tokyo Police Club show at Aura tomorrow?

Yeah, no complaints with you guys about the parking and I hope it didn't come off that way. I know Thompson's Point got a lot of flak when they first said they were going to start charging and was hoping they changed their mind, but here we are. And it's not the $2. I mean I went there ready to spend over $50 so another $2 isn't a problem. It's that for all of this time there was no charge for parking but now that the area has taken off, they've decided to make extra money off of us.

And I noticed the dating on the cans of Nuclear. Good stuff!

curious if anyone knows what the line will be like (if any) on Saturday morning for Reciprocal? I'm picking up Dinner at 10 and wouldn't mind picking up some Recip/Substance on the drive back down, but I can't leave portland much past 11. Thanks in advance.

Many of Bissell's offerings, including the short stack of Subby cans, have been lasting well into the next day. You'll be more than fine.

I'm not worried about it lasting, I'm worried about if they open at 11, and I get there around 10:45-11, what sort of wait am I looking at?

Sorry! The line moves very quickly during the week with a pre-opening of 20-30 people. Not sure how Saturday is going to look. I suggest trying to go to MBC early to see if you can grab your case before your slot and then zoot down to Bissell to be out as early as possible.

    This.

Lately, MBC doesn't seem to care when you show up. I've been early, late, on time. They just check you in and you're on your way.

So shoot to get to MBC for like 9:30 or so and be back in Portland by 10:00 so you'll be closer to the front of the line. Or go even earlier to MBC. Bottom line, I wouldn't worry about getting to MBC too early.

does Bissell ever open early a la Tree House? Standing in line for an hour just to leave on time isn't of great interest to me either. Might just go to the bottle release at Allagash at 10 instead.

I was there today and there is a sign faces the dirt lot that says you need to pay to park there as well. No idea if they check it as this was my first time at the new place but I didn't really want to chance it so paid the two bucks...

The new place was really nice and I got to have my first taste of Swish this year. Really impressed with the number of beers they have on tap.

I'm looking to go to my first Swish release on 12/16. Would anyone be able to give me an idea of what the lines will be like for this release? I am driving into Maine for the day and will get to the brewery around 10:30. I know there have been posts about past Swish releases, but I'm trying to see if this particular one will be a little more tame then some of the first offerings of the year. Thanks.

You should have no problem getting your cans but you will wait maybe up to an hour depending how far back the line goes. It won't sell out that fast and last into the early afternoon potentially. Pours won't start until it quiets down. Just have to hope the weather cooperates
