Yeah, it had no affect on my decision to not renew. I was just curious.

I had Vindictive II at the OG tasting room a few weeks ago. It was purple, translucent and tasted more like oxidized wine than a blend of zin and w/ BT. I opened a bottle tonight, and it is dark brown, opaque, and a delicious blend of zin grapes and BT.

And I would say it matters less that it is rare, but rather how likely I am to buy it.

I buy multiple bottles of BT every year, so including it saves me money.

Having said that, I got several bottles of BT port so its a wash.

I'm not a trader, so rare does nothing for me. I drink, share or gift what I buy.

Can we get a firm yes or no that beers other than Terreux beers will be bottled in the 375ml format next year? At this point whether I re-up my membership or not for next year is pretty much riding on this, yet nothing presented so far in the marketing of the societies for 2018 has given a firm indication that this will happen.

I think I speak for most when I say that the reason many of us wanted the 375ml format was to be able to get the higher ABV beers in smaller formats that could be drank by 1 person. When we heard that 375ml bottles were going to be a reality, I think many were happy to hear that the Bruery was finally listening to their member's wants, but since the announcement, all that's been released in the smaller format have been lower ABV Terreux beers.

For myself at least, the lack of a smaller format was my biggest frustration with my Bruery membership, so if this additional format is going to happen for all Bruery brands, I want to know up front before I spend my $300 for next year.

I'd love to hear as well. If all beers say over 12% were going to be offered in the 375 format I'd be more interested than just here or there as we see fit.

Yes, we’re planning on Terreux beers being in 375mL for the foreseeable future. We’ll have the ability to package in 375mL bottles on The Bruery side shortly— changeover equipment is quite a bit more elaborate than at Terreux. You can expect our massive beers to be in 375mL bottles, but it’ll take a few months for them as we package 1-2 months ahead of release for our barrel aged beers.

    Cheers,
    Patrick

    Hi Joel,

Any further information on this? It'd be helpful to let our trustees know sooner rather than later if this will actually be an option. Also, will it be possible to split orders for those who share a membership with their trustee (e.g. half the order to be picked up in CA and half shipped to DC)?

    Thanks!

Even for local pickup you gotta pick up entire orders at once. That's why they always recommend that if you're buying BT you put it separately so you can pick up other allocations earlier.

I happened to notice (while looking for Yount on the tap list, guess it's done after SMM? sad face) that Rest is on tap at the main tasting room - did kegs not go bad? I really enjoyed the one bottle I had before infection hit.

This make some sense but at the same time it makes little sense. Included bottles are not free so one way or another you're still paying for it. But I get that you're saying that getting it included means you don't have to buy it and could potentially not buy other beers from them thus saving you money.

Actually getting to drink weekday beers on a weekday because soloing a 750 on a work night is irresponsible!?!?

Let me clarify this, with some examples.

I wanted three bottles of BT Port this year.. Since two were included, I only had to buy one. If they were not included in my membership, I would have had to buy three. So the inclusion of BT Port in my membership saved me the cost of two bottles of BT Port.

Either way, I would have paid for my membership because I like RS for many reasons. And each year I get a few bottles with my membership that would not buy if they were not included. This is still OK, I still drink them and in most cases enjoy them. But not including them doesn't mean, I would buy them otherwise..

So every bottle included in my membership that I would buy anyway, saves me money.

On a side note, I do recognize that exclusiveness is important to many people. My original point was that its not what motivates everyone and some of us are OK with getting BT in the included bottles.
