Even better that all three batches are less than 10 days old.

Also agree that this batch of Disco Ninja isn't as dynamic taste-wise as the first batch I had previously both canned and draft. #FirstWorldProblems.

Cans? Not yet...and don't shoot the messenger, but don't hold your breath. Revision is growing as fast as possible, but they have to feed the home markets before expanding south.

That said, smart OC stores have access to most of the following bottles:

    IPA
    DIPA
    What, What
    Citra Revenge
    Dr. Lupulin

I’ve already bought all of Rev’s bombers since day one in the OC. Hell, I brought back home from Vegas a couple of their 4 packs. I’m still waiting for the 4pk in the OC. But maybe they are going to all cans so why ship bottles? It would be nice to see some cans here.

For now, It looks like "West Coast" IPAs in bottles 12 & 22oz.. "EAST Coast" NE Hazy IPAs in 16 oz Cans.

The one anomaly is that they are putting "Blonde NV" Blonde Ale in 12oz cans/6 packs.

Okay, so how do some of the Rev Hazy cans compare to Fieldworks, Monks, etc or any of the east coast Haze? So far I'm impressed with Rev's west coast IPA's. But I enjoyed most of Knee Deep's IPA's when it's fresh. It's rare to find a fresh bottle of KD here in SoCal these days. Hopefully Rev won't end up like KD.

Disco Ninja cans saw pretty widespread distro in LA/OC. Tahoe Haze cans were more limited but also made it down here a few weeks ago.

Ah, I did get a can of the Tahoe Haze. It was like almost 2 months old. :rage:

I can only compare them (Revision) to NORCAL Hazy cans. They are not quite at the level of the top guys like: Fieldwork, Cellarmaker, Alv St, Moonraker. Yet....

They are just that next tier down. Good to Great Beer. What separates them right now is the great distribution that just started over the last month. They send the good beer in big quantities (cans) right to many different STORES. Then you buy the beer at the store with no line. Beer doesn't sit because it is bought in a day or so. Groundbreaking...... lol.....

Disagree, several beers/batches hit the NE mouthfeel better than several of those others you mentioned. If i can walk into a local spot and grab Planetary Fog or Disco Ninja and not have to make a special trip somewhere else that's a huge bonus. Can't comment on their handling/distro down to Socal, but so far cans have been hitting Sac area distro within days of canning.

I get what you are saying. Just personally IMO, I still put the 4 I mentioned in just a little higher tier for the style. They have a year + head start. Revision is really only a few months in to putting out NE IPAs in cans, but I really like what they are doing. I probably have the most posts in both Revision threads (Pacific & Mountain forum...lol)

I totally agree with the huge bonus factor of just hitting your local shop to get great beer. PFog & Disco has been great in cans. No line, no wait.

Also the DRAFT ONLY Citriadis IPA hit the Sacramento Area this past weekend. Really good, I hope they do another batch for canning.

Still waiting to try the new The Bruff (Citra & Mosaic) and Planet Lovetron (Amarillo, Citra & Mosaic) which were Brewery only in cans so far. Those should hit Sac and the Bay Distro later this week.

I guess for me, and my palate and preferences, right now the Norcal hazy shakeout is

    Tier 1a: Moonraker, Cellarmaker
Tier 1b: Fieldwork, Alvarado (limited data points)

I have Revision currently closer to 1a than 1b. While I love Fieldwork, and they recently overtook Stone as the brewery I've sampled the most different beers from, for their hazy offerings Pulp is the only one that really hits the mouthfeel for me.

Revision already has several, and like you said, they're less experienced in the style. I fully expect Jeremy to dial it in. Lastly, for reference, I'm flying to Portland tonight. The beers in my suitcase for relatives that are beer advocates or home brewers are all Moonraker or Revision.

And yah, stop being such a Revision thread hog!

Now, fingers crossed I can find some cans of Fortunate Sun while I'm up there!

I have Fieldwork higher in that top tier 1a with Moonraker/Cellarmaker.

For me, Fieldwork Pulp, King Citra, Eastside Motel, Galaxy Juice, Sonoma Pride, Virtual Planetiod, Destination Unkown, One Star Review, Broken Clouds, Hazy Train are above most of the new Revision beers of the past month. Planetary Fog from Revision is the only one that I would really put in this group. Disco Ninja (batch 2) was slightly less from a haze/mouthfeel standpoint. Tahoe Haze was almost a WC/EC hybrid.

The price point $3.5/$4 vs the Fieldwork $5 is where Revision is on top. Along with the bigger distro in stores vs Brewery/Taproom only.

I also look for Jeremy W to really start dialing it in since they are really becoming focused on this NE style with the wave of initial popularity and praise over the past month.

Moonraker & Cellarmaker are definitely 1a in terms of release queues. :grinning:
