Founders CBS 2017 - Boston

Catching up on this thread and just popping in for a couple observations:

1) what an awesome sense of community by way of information sharing; not sure if I'll get my hands on a bottle but that's certainly on me, especially in light of all the helpful posts of where/how many/how much.

2) say what you will about BCBS, KBS and now CBS, but nothing (from my perspective) brings out the true character of retailers like these beers - bottles out in the open, bottles tucked away, bottles saved for great customers, raffle, timed releases, bottles for MSRP, bottles for MSRP + reasonable markup, bottles for a straight-up ridiculous markup, etc.

Point #1 makes me proud to be a member; Point #2 sticks with me and influences my buying habits long term.

Was about to pick some up at downtown wine and spirits in Davis square, then I thought to ask the price since they do tend to overcharge. It was $40 a bottle. I decided I can live without CBS if I have to pay that much or run to out of the way liquor stores when I don’t have time during the week.

 

Wow! I felt bad paying $29....

 

I went back to Wegman's in Burlington again after work yesterday (needed carrots) and they had already sold out. Got it about noon, sold out before 5.

 

From there, you're about a 5 minute walk from Pemberton, where it's $27 or $28, I think?

 

Pemberton should have some today, try giving them a call. Downtown Wine and Spirits in Davis is the biggest scam of all time. I was having a cookout one day and figured I would buy a rack for guests who might not enjoy craft beers. Had a couple already so figured walking over there would be my best bet rather than driving, and I almost had a heart attack when I saw the price for a 30 rack was $37. Of Bud Light.

But definitely give Pemberton a call, probably will be slightly marked up, but nothing as egregious as $40.

 

I've never gone to pemberton, but i guess i'll give them a call. I also work the hours liqour stores are generally open so i really can only go during my lunch break on weekdays.

 

Debucas in Raynham was selling for 39.99, I passed. I wonder who is buying it at that price.

 

Wow, $9 for a nearly full 12 oz snifter at Yard House is an absurd deal with what the bottles are going for.

Lynnfield, Dedham, Fenway all had it on tap as of yesterday. Check their websites for the Chalkboard drafts. It also got tapped at The Salty Pig last night.

 

I was finally able to pick one up at Ball Square this evening. They didnt seem to have a lot but they said they havent even gone through half their allotment when i picked it up. I also let them know about their competitor charging $40 for a bottle.

 

Thats my neck of the woods, that is absolutely absurd. Did you try Muckey's ?

 

Table and Vine in W.Springfield has a couple of cases left @ $30/bottle; two per person limit

 

Nothing at Muckey's per a friend.

 

Blanchard's in Allston has them - $30 each, 2 pp limit. I have 2 reserved for me that I don't need so if anyone wants them, PM me.

 

Just wanted to f/u that they only have six bottles. Kind of weird to only have six bottles, but it is what it is... They're still releasing them today at 2 p.m. per their Facebook/Insta.

 

Dont think they would tell you if they did. Last time I tried getting beer camp there i was asked over the phone if i was a "regular".. I answered that it depends on what constitutes as a regular but im there buying beer often. When i get there to pick it up the guy told me that he didn't see me in there enough.
