Might be referring to Modern Times canning the collaboration with Great Notion..

ON SALE SUNDAY: Fortunate Sun (Collab IPA w/ Great Notion Brewing). Within this magnificent pale ale’s hazy depths reside legions of Galaxy, Citra, & Amarillo hops, yielding a 7% marvel of tropical, citrusy dankness that boasts critical levels of both flavor and crushability. It will arrive alongside a delightful lineup of cans & bottles in Sunday’s online special release sale, which goes live at 10AM, and will also be getting limited distro in the Pacific Northwest.

It landed today, so it should start popping up around town starting tomorrow.

Guessing PDX only, or will Seattle get some cans? I had this beer on tap at Great Notion in May and enjoyed it.

I'd be interested in any sightings, happen to be in the area for a few days and would love to grab some. TIA

They're having an event at NWIPA tonight and will have the cans available. Great Notion is also getting a bunch later this week, but I don't know when/how they plan on selling it.

    From today's weekly update:

    1. Guest & Collabo Beers: This weekend we still have a few great and rare Pure Project guest beers still on tap, including Gatsby (TIPA), Prime Evils (Bottle Logic collabo imperial stout w/ coffee & ghost peppers) , Madeline (barrel-aged sour), Murklands (super awesome hazy) and more. The hazy IPA collabo we did with Modern Times, Fortunate Sun, will still be on tap and in cans as of today at 12 noon!
    2. House Beers: the latest batch of Double Stack will go on tap this weekend and then next week we will see the return of two 9%ers: Super Ripe and Super Over Ripe. Peanut Brother’s running very low, so come and taste that before it’s all gone. We also still have a decent amount of the very-coconuty Shadow Sequence and Biscuits and Hazy!

Maybe I am just not looking hard enough. Is the cost of a double stack crowler a better kept secret than their recipes? I cant find the cost of their crowlers or their double stack crowler anywhere. I am sure its out there. Any info would be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure this is what I paid last time as well (a couple weeks back).

And now for the weekly update:

    1. Xmas Eve: Closing @ 4 pm
    2. Xmas Day: Closed
    3. New Year’s Eve: Closing @ 9 pm
    4. New Year’s Day: Closed

    1. Brunch: Stay tuned for more details, but you are the first group of people to get the early heads up that we will be testing brunch out on two different Sundays in January. The first brunch will be Sunday, January 7th starting at 10 am. The second will be on Sunday, January 21st. Next Friday however, I will have more details on how you can get a seat to the January brunches (aka betatests). We are hoping to serve brunch every Saturday and Sunday starting in February after these 2 January trials...You’ll finally be able to get a double stack with your Double Stack!
    2. Beers: It’s a bird. No, it’s a plane. No, it’s two Hoppy AF beers! Everyone’s favorite DIPA superhero friends Super Ripe and Super Over Ripe are both on tap now! Swing by with your fam while you're out holiday shopping on Alberta St! Then, coming in the next few days will be Mandela with Nelson Sauvin hops and then a beer we have been wanting to make for a very, very long time. Remember that time when ABI pulled a super A-hole move and bought up every single hop farm in South Africa so that no non-ABI-owned craft brewery could buy any more cool South African hops? Yeah, well we teleported into some hop storage facilities in South Africa, grabbed 3 boxes and bounced! We hopefully should have on tap mid-week after Xmas a new hazy IPA with Southern Passion for everyone to try. Fingers crossed at the last minute ABI doesn’t come to Portland and demand these hops or the beer back

Maybe you should've waited. I had a can last night and I thought it was terrific.

Just like this year's Fort George 3-Way: I can remember a couple instances where the cans got better after an extra week or two.

    Time for the weekly update:

    1. Happy Holidays and Happy New Year! Unique time/date notes below:
      1. We will be open on Sunday night / New Year’s Eve until around 9 pm.
      2. We will be closed this coming Monday for the New Year’s Day holiday.
      3. We will also be closed on Tuesday, January 9th for a deep cleaning and private staff party.
    2. Brunch: You heard it here first. We are going to start brunch in January with 2 dates and then full force every Saturday and Sunday in February. The January dates will be Sunday, January 7th and Sunday January 21st. We will be open for biz at 10 am, first come, first serve. We will definitely have double stacks to eat with your Double Stack (regular or blueberry!) as well as a cool Red Flannel Hash and other tasty treats.
Beers: Dirty South went on tap this weekend and the Southern Passion hops are everything we dreamed of! Please come try this beer quickly because it’s going to go very fast and we might not see these hops in Portland again for a very long time. We also just tapped LSD 1 hour ago! This is a hazy DIPA that we brewed with our friends from Pure Project in SD. It has Loral, Denali and Simcoe hops (duh, L, S & D) and is slamming. New batch of Double Stack just got tapped also and crowlers are being filled as I type this for sale today. If you show up at opening the next few days there are some other cool crowlers for sale as well. Super Ripe and Super Over Ripe are still on tap and tasting lovely and we will also see a Double Dry-Hopped version of Ripe that is sure to get beer nerds as giggly as our kids got over those silly fingerling monkeys this holiday season! Oh, also we brewed 2 cool new beers this week: Japanese Maple and Guava Mochi. Japanese Maple will be an imperial red ale brewed with sushi rice, Japanese sea salt, maple syrup and raw cacao. Guava Mochi is a really silly beer we actually brewed with mochi ice cream.

The email indicated they're continuing to make progress on the new West Side facility as well:

We finally moved 2 tanks into our new facility today! 4 more next week and then the rest the following week (fingers crossed)!

There are still a few crowlers of DDH Ripe in the cooler here. I'm not buying one, so you can have mine. Happy New Year!

DDH Ripe has a terrific citrus-and-weed aroma, and the first half of the beer is luscious and citrusy and ripe. Then, like too many examples of the hazy IPA style, the flavor falls right off a cliff, leaving only a lingering grapefruit note to remind you that you just drank something.

It's a very tasty beer. I just wish the flavor didn't vanish the way it does. It's an aspect of the style that always leaves me wanting more.

My reaction is exactly the same as yours (haven't bought it again since the first time I tried it).

Did you have a chance to try any of the other IPA's while you were there? It may be that I'm just getting used to seeing (and drinking) this style of IPA, but some of the more recent NE style IPA's I've had there, didn't seem to have the same sort of flavor drop off on the finish.
