Same here except with Obligatory. It was my favorite beer from Transient the previous couple of times they canned it. Last batch was way off. Felt the same with flightless. And I grabbed cans on day 1 of release and drank the same day.

Agreed, I finally got to try Obligatory and bought 3 4-packs from the last batch. I gave it a 3.5 rating. It was just not good IMO.

 

Yes that obligatory batch was simply not good. But that last flightless was still good imo.

 

Drank a Citra Refraction the other night and thought it was pretty tasty. I did grab the Mind To Devour when it was fresh from the brewery and enjoyed it enough to pick up another 4 pack at Open Bottle.

 

Anyone have any deets on limits for BA Neckbeard today? Should I expect this to sell out quickly?

great move by Transient moving the Henry porter from 500ml bottles to 4x16oz cans. looking forward to grabbing a 4 pack

 

Wasn't it in 650ml bottles? (at least here in Michigan)

 

I have only had bottles as part of the IL releases, so you may be right. Either way it wasn't in current format

Oh & anyone heard any updates about an IL members release? Been a few months since the last update, so I feel obligated to ask the question

That was 6+ weeks ago. No excuse to not have an update by now. I dont even give a shit about the party at this point. I just want the last of my beer so I can be done with it.

I have. The displeasure from IL members over lack of communication has been voiced many times. Its not like he doesnt see these pages. Its on him to make HIS membership for HIS brewery an enjoyable experience for HIS customers. Not for us to beg for little updates.

 

Honestly, he's likely not giving updates because there's probably not an update to give. Would it really make you feel that much better if he sent a message every week stating "still working on it."

 

Company A - Fucks up an entire year long membership
Company B - Fucks up a year long memebr ship but provides weekly updates as to what avenues are being explored, what beers, are in the pipe, ect. (you know good customer service)

Company A does not get their membership renewed. Company B does. Its really simple.

 

I wouldn't say Chris/Transient fucked up the membership because the Tardos situation was beyond his control (I would assume). But the last update from Chris was October 4th and this membership was supposed to run from July 2016 - June 2017. We paid money up front for this membership, essentially for the party, and then have to buy our bottles as they are released.

I like that Chris has offered IL members the opportunity to order an allotment of MI member releases for pickup in Bridgman but agree it would be great if he would tell us what he has in barrels in IL for the membership & perhaps release those beers (or others that are ready) for the IL members and then have the party if/when a space gets figured out. Our brew & can a batch of his ipas/pales at Hailstorm & release that just to members - something like that.

I'm obviously not privy to the logistics/efforts Chris has made to find a space for the party, but Aquanaut was shut down almost 11 months ago now (Jan 26, 2017), so it's tough to swallow it taking a year to find a space for a 1 off party like this.

I would like to see how Chris eventually wraps up the membership & what his plans are for the future of IL members before I decide on renewing or not.

Bad taste in my mouth & some customer service to be desired? yes.
