I've seen places selling Northwoods for $50. Didn't bother to ask what the price for the other bc bottles were after that.

I think Northwood is a steal at $30. I'll be stuck splitting a $40 bottle of it at GI sometime just to try it....

Hold on, I just want to make sure I understand this. $14 for 48 oz of NEIPA is overpriced but $30 for 16.9 of Northwood is a steal and $40 is acceptable? And I was under the impression that you thought everything cost too much. I think my brain might have exploded upon reading your post.

He's one of the ones that thinks Bourbon County is too cheap, yet it's sitting on shelves everywhere in Chicago right now.

There are lots of good online classes that will introduce you to the laws of supply and demand and pricing sensitivity. Given that variants of BCBS are limited they sell out fast and historically have resold for 3x + on the black market. $40 is much more fair when you compare this to the $90 value many people buy it for. Marz cans sit on the shelf, have no hype and are an entire 16 oz can less than a 4 pack of comparable product. Thanks for trying.

Even though we can find regular with ease right now (assuming you're referring to regular), that doesn't mean it isn't underpriced. It will be gone in the next month or so. Just because it's been on the shelves for 3 weeks doesn't mean it's a shelf turd.

I'm not advocating a price increase or saying that it necessarily is underpriced...just saying that the fact that it's available right now isn't conclusive.

They've both been on tap quite a bit - you gotta get out there and try them! Of course, you'll need 2 separate nights if you're only drinking one beer each night.

Hey, he said "on shelves." I prefer drinking these in my home, because typically rushing out to drink it on tap either means:

    A) I'm drinking during lunch (which is amusing when I'm at work, but I'm not a big fan of it in general)

    B) I'm drinking after work, and am jammed into a seat next to 20 other guys drinking the same.

I'll probably give them a shot if/when they're on tap again at some place convenient, but it's never my preference.

If they were $100, would they be sitting on shelves right now? No. Supply and demand has nothing to do with it when you're dealing with irrational customers or maybe more specifically, hobbyist. If they were $100, would the secondary market still be sitting at $125-$140? I highly doubted it. I suppose there's a point where folks would say enough is enough, but the backlash probably wouldn't be good for the brand. I don't have time to explain it all again, just go back about 30 pages in this thread.

Hah, I noticed that after I posted - sorry, I really forgot I snapped the pic until the WF comment today reminded me of it.

I mean, supply and demand is still applicable, it's just shifted due to the willingness of these people to spend more. If Prop and Reserve were $1000 each you'd be able to find them still.

We’ve been over the supply and demand thing. The problem is supply. Founders can put out enough of its barrel aged series to satisfy supply but still not have it sit too long. Goose refuses to do that for their variants.
