Your initial package is anticipated to be ready for pickup from our Fulfillment Center (located at 741 Dunn Way in Placentia, CA) beginning on Tuesday, January 2 when we open at noon. In order to make picking up initial packages a breeze, we will be limiting pickups from our Fulfillment Center to only initial packages, from January 2 through January 7. Your initial package will include:

7 BOTTLES
One 750-ml. bottle of this 2018 Hoarders Society exclusive:
Sour in the Rye with Peaches (2018)

Two 750-ml. bottles each of these 2018 Reserve Society exclusives:
PB & Jelly Thursday
Black & Blue BBLs

One 750-ml. bottle each of the following archive releases:
Melange #3 (2017)
Humulus Terreux

3 EXCLUSIVE ITEMS OF MERCHANDISE
Pair of 2018 Hoarders Society-branded glassware
2018 Hoarders Society-branded Whaleshark bottle opener (which will help tear through those new wax-dipped exclusive bottles included in your initial package!)

The remaining included bottles with your 2018 membership will be released throughout the year (from February to December). You’ll receive notifications as included bottles are ready for pickup or delivery.

That beer at the beginning is not bad, but not great. They still have M3 (2017) bottles in the tasting room. Kinda bland IMO.

I have enough glassware to host a 20 person tasting party. Whaleshark® bottle opener? This one? Do I really need another one?

There was a tote bag? No way. I don't recall getting that here in 2017.

 

I got a couple of them in the OG tasting room when I ordered some 6 packs on different occasions. They were your favorite color, surprised you missed it.

 

I think they're designing an app for placing orders in the tasting room so that you don't have to sign in. Just a different way to validate your membership I think.

I guess I don't care what's in the initial package vs released later in the year... I know the stuff I'll be getting eventually and there's no shortage of stuff to drink in my cellar at home...

 

Damn, I missed it too. Should see it again though. Fingers crossed.

 

Hmmm, well damn. Probably good, having less stuff is always nice.

We’re customizing an app for our use in 2018, which will provide functionality for member identification, incentive programs, special notifications, event check-ins and more.

 

Opened a bottle of BA 6 Geese a few weeks ago and it was awesome. No sign of infection in the bottle we had... YMMV I guess.

@BruerJoel - For the merchandise for sale, will we be able to purchase that and pick it up with the initial package?

 

Wonder which two got booted off the initial list in order to make room for rarities like Melange #3 (2017) and Humulus Terreux?

From literally two lines after where you stopped quoting the message from September: "A surprise release from the archives and one of our funky favorites - included with your membership and in your initial package. Plus, as you hit certain thresholds throughout the year, you'll be rewarded with more included archive beers." So, no, nothing was dropped from the list.

Looking forward to being a hoarder this year! Not sure about B&B BBls in that I’m probably one of the only people in the society’s who didn’t like Blue BBls— only had a taster but found it way too sweet on top of the sour. Hoping that that was just my palate on that day and that Black (berries?) adds something.
Does anyone know anything about Cuvée 2018?

No one knows about the Cuvee until it's blended at the tournament.

 

The merch (glassware and Whaleshark opener) will be ready for pickup with the initial package. It's included with your 2018 membership.

 

Results are in from this past weekend - “It’s Beginning to Taste a Lot Like Christmas” - a spiced gingerbread cookie-inspired blend from The Bruery, featuring Black Tuesday, Mash and our anniversary ale; and, “White is the Blue Black” from Bruery Terreux, featuring Tart of Darkness and a dash of our bourbon barrel-aged wheatwine with vanilla, blueberries and cacao nibs.

 

Those both sound amazing.... Going to be an awesome year.
(For some reason I thought cuvée was in the initial package when I asked and was wondering how it could be ready so quickly...poor reading...but glad to hear the results.)
