I bought a bottle just now based off this post. No pressure. Will be the third time I’ve paid money for a bottle of an OH stout...

Excited to try the new hop showers too - that was the main reason for stopping by

I’m halfway through my first bottle and I don’t think you’ll be disappointed. Well worth the price tag IMO. Excited to try Short Dark and Breakfast, hopefully the yield was high enough that cans will last by the time I get there.

I was dead set against OH stouts until someone gave me a smoke screens with vanilla, coconut, and coffee. Great beer. I gave BAA Orbit w/ coconut a try and was actually impressed. Enjoyed every oz from starting cold to finishing it at room temp.

    Watch out for coconut floaties.

Wow: Hop Showers is incredible, and Vic Secret is THE hop to DDH this with. This beer makes me nostalgic for... I don't know what, perhaps a time before lactose. A contender for top 5 of year.

I hear you, but I think I preferred the Motueka version by a bit. There was more citrus on that one.

Have u reached out to them? They are so customer first oriented maybe they will unblock u? Lol. One drunk post shouldn’t result in a block. I think your drunk posts/rants are very entertaining.

Less tacky? Reminds me of my grandmas china closet. Gold broccoli with a gold or silver rim? No thanks.

I like the gold rimmed glasses. I just think putting vegetables on glasses has lost what little novelty it had.

I feel like an idiot....I own a teku with cabbages on it.

Yes, I would say that a glass with a blown up bowl of "Cream of Broccoli" with a smiley face is definitely tacky.

I know I bought two broccoli tekus and am tired of explaining to non-beer people why I have a glasses with broccoli on it.

Almost all of the glasses that OH has released over the past few months have been tastelessly designed at best and horrific grabs at hype-based FOMO marketing at worst. The "triangle test" merch series--as part of which they lazily cropped a cross-section of a meh can label design and slapped it on multiple color-coded tekus--was a new low that redefined the basement to which they're willing to steep in order to make a couple extra thousand $. I fully understand the motivation... It's a super easy cash grab that a ton of similar breweries (from Tree House to Monkish to you-name-your-favorite-hazy-IPA-can-producer) are capitalizing on. But I really wish beer consumers would wise up to the fact that they're being exploited, that beer won't taste any better out of ever-more-proper glassware. Otherwise, if people continue to buy into this mindset, the inevitable end is a beer-specific glass for every new release :slight_frown:.

The geometer inside me LOVED the triangle test glasses, but it didn't compel me to buy any.

Exploited seems a bit aggressive. Do you really think beer drinkers are buying the classes to make the beer taste better? I don't! The glasses look cool and it's fun to match the glass to the beer.

Anyone else think the last good OH teku was the OH/Tired Hands Oat Potion version?

I won't lie, I do have a Fully Loaded Potato, Cheddar Broccoli, and DDH Broccoli 2.0 Teku. Personally, I like those designs, and I like Tekus, so I bought them, even if they are tacky. I do agree that the Triangle Test glassware series was nonsense. At minimum, you can easily have designed a single glass that incorporated the colors/design of each triangle beer, and consumers would have been happy. I think the fact that these tekus lasted over a week shows that Other Half 'over extended' themselves. And I can't imagine anyone who lives in NYC has the room for an expanding glassware collection. I've basically reached my limit on how many glasses I can keep in my apartment.

Glass was dope, but more impressively was that the collab was good too

Indeed, which reminds me a OH/ Tired Hands collab is long overdue. Been 1 year 8 months since Debbie Downer!

The Tired Hands guys were just at Interboro this week doing a collab. Didn’t see any signs they stopped at other half, but maybe it was a top secret operation.
