Heard they are sending the next run upstate for a pre Christmas drop. They hate us locals anyway...

Might be Thursday this year, when I was at the release last week Andrew was talking to some of the regulars to see if people would prefer the 21st, the 22nd or the normal day but don't quote me on that actually being the case.

I saw an Other Half illustrated book for sale at Astoria Bier & Cheese. I didn't know that existed. I would have bought it if it wasn't $50.

you know... i used to scoff at the whole 'bad can' concept.. i always chalked it up to user error, if you will. maybe something eaten or drank prior to said 'bad can' that totally changes the subjective flavor perception. I had a lot of ddh dmd cans leftover from thanksgiving that i recently complained about not tasting good. Then last night i had another and it was just as amazing as that beer typically is. So yeah... i buy that bad can idea now. But what can cause one can to go bad, when another one next to it in the canning line can taste fine? Asking for science.

canning lines are not perfect and these styles of beer are VERY susceptible to being oxidized. So there is always a risk of 1 or more cans not being properly purged with co2 to remove all oxygen before the fill - and there is always the risk of cans not being filled completely, leaving room for oxygen between the "head" and the can.

I'm not sure if OH cans straight from a tank or from kegs - but if it's kegs, that just adds another layer of risk. Could be poor cleaning of a keg - a keg that wasn't properly purged, oxidized beer, a keg may have gotten a little more trub/matter in it than other kegs, etc.

Fairly certain the artist is a BA member, could have sworn he linked one of his recent pieces to the OH thread or the Hauls thread via Instagram, but perhaps I'm mistaken. I feel weird linking his Instagram account without his permission, but he's got some nice pieces. Would plunk down some cash for a couple of prints.

Edit: where did you find the book for sale? Looks like the art is being exhibited as per the post?

I drove by other half after my sixpoint stop around 11:45 am saturday. Was still surprised to see a long line at that point so I just kept driving. Didn't realize it lasted that late!
