Fieldwork appreciation thread

I didn't get to try it as I only had time to grab a growler of Wax and leave. I actually recently opened a can of the first batch of Galaxy Sauce that I couldn't throw away for some reason. They really got burned by the yeast bank or whatever because it had that Belgian taste to it. One thing I wish they'd do is hold back these shit batches the way other breweries do--I mean, I can't believe they ever allowed this stuff to go on sale. Also, my inner masochist got me to buy a bottle of Jude the Obscure, but now I'm dreading opening it. For an old ale, the SRM is pretty light.

 

Fieldwork just dropped their weekly newsletter. Looks like they are doing four can releases next week: Tigger Uppercut, One Star Review, Pulp, and Tactical Hatchet. Haven't heard of Tactical Hatchet before, but it looks to be another IPA.

 

looks sonoma pride is coming back!!! renamed tactical hatchet. damn i won’t be in town for it.

Good catch, I missed the part of the email where they mentioned it is a similar beer to Sonoma Pride. It sucks that I will be out of town, I just finished my last can of SP last week. Hopefully, it will still be on for growler fills by the time I get back.

 

Damn! I hope I get a lot of CASH for Christmas. I am going to need it. 4 heavy hitters for NYE.

 

Didn't get the nutty aspects, but definitely very earthy and woody for my palate and preferences.

 

im in the same boat! gonna be down south. swooping up Bottle Logic Frogger tho, so that will be a nice consolation prize

Fieldwork just keep elevating to new levels with each release...Ive found them to be pretty damn consistent with quality when it comes to their IPAs and DIPAs, these hazy juicebombs are like jamba juice on steroids..

Im always happy to help out those ISO..Im looking forward to these next releases. How can you not be curious about a brew with an awesome name like Tiger Uppercut..?

Drank my last crowler of Pulp the other night, still fresh and delicious a month aftet being canned. Cracked it open and the citrus and pineapple smell flooded the room...this is definitely one of Fieldworks best that Ive tried...these hops are heaven sent.

Dont let the smooth taste fool you with Sauce....its easy to over indulge in the Galaxy's elixir because it just so juicy and crushable, you forget the ABV and end up unable to do the ABC's...enjoy responsibly folks lol..and Uber drivers LOVE getting a can of FW for a tip.

Visiting the area for the holidays and would love to try some Fieldwork. Where's the best place to grab cans/crowlers near Menlo Park (I see they have a few locations and not sure if cans are only released at one or what not)?

 

San Mateo would be the nearest Fieldwork location to you, not too far..

ok so I went back an looked this dude up, i guess my appreciation of fieldworks brews was going a bit overboard for you guys here?? I'll keep it plain and simple, im new to hazy beers/juicebombs, learning about the different hops and this whole scene ...I found some stuff I liked and jumped in to talk about em...thought i would share my review.

Anyone else have some fieldwork in their Christmas? We had some folks who hadn’t tried any FW beers over and Good Conduct, Wax*, and Galaxy Sauce all went over very well. Didn’t end up opening the bubbly thanks to all the beer!

*I’m not sold on Wax but our guests liked it

Looks like just 2 cans for release today (Friday). Pulp and One Star Review.

Tiger Uppercut and Tactical Hatchet cans could be released Sat or Sunday??? No official word yet.

 

Stopped by Berkeley today to get some Pulp (8 cans =some lol), and try One Star Review. I actually really liked my half pour of OSR, but at over 9% I just couldn't justify it.

I honestly had no idea about Tactical Hatchet until the post above. The rebrand of their amazing Sonoma Pride offering, exactly what people wanted them to do? Yes, please! Hopefully it lasts until Tuesday since I took my last trip across the Bay Bridge for 2017...
