I've been to the fest EVERY year in Austin and have always had a good time. My recommendation is to definitely go early.

Too bad you guys couldn't sneak one in in the old movie theater parking lot right next to the SA Saucer. They finally reopened it under new management.

Any know when the Addison event takes place or if they will have it?

Doesn't look like they have one. They had the BeerBBQ back in August and then they have a tent at the Addison Octoberfest.

Anybody coming to Fort Worth's event this weekend? I'll be there helping pour. Should be a great time

They started leaking the beer list on Facebook today...they started with the basics and I assume will unveil the rest daily.

VIPs might expect some rareness from Austin and Dallas from what I've heard.

Had a great time at the Fort Worth event. The lines weren't bad (except for the rare tappings), it wasn't overcrowded, and the covered area really absorbed a lot of people when it started to rain. I thought the Rahr Visionary #2 (double black IPA) was really good - is that going to be bottled? The only rare tappings I had were Black Butte XXIV and Avery Samaels Oak aged.

It was fun working the event as well. I was serving on the Texas end of things. I agree with your assessment, the short lines and very nice, if drunk, people made it easy to chat.

I thought Ship Wrecked from Real Ale was amazing and the pumpkin beer with the Pig on the tap was also very solid (best pumpkin beer I've had this year)

Jake just mentioned on twitter "...that does not include rare beers either!" I'll be there. Looking forward to it.

Anyone have an idea what the VIP only beers are?

I didn't think there was any. I read it as having access to the rare beer tappings 10 mins before the gen admission crowd, but not having exclusive access.
