Wisconsin was getting Florida cans that were not up to our freshness standards throughout 2016. So it’s been more than a year

I did do some agitation, but not the upside down for several minutes. Even peeked in the bottom and wasn't much sediment left. I'll give that a whirl on my remaining bottle.

4 or 5 bottles of Mosaic Sue sitting on shelf at Glen Elyn Binny's for anyone looking and in the area.

Had a bottle of KS last night. Okay beer but not up to the level of previous batches. Not looking forward to drinking my remaining bottles.

Exactly what I was thinking. If they are from the release we recently received in Chicago, I would happily take then. I've been looking for more and can't find any in the SW burbs.

I thought it was outstanding. However it was also the first time I've had King Sue.

I thought King Sue was pretty damn good. Maybe not as awesome as I remember (could be my palate changed, or quality of local/non-local beer improving), but I would never turn down an opportunity to get more King Sue.

Last I checked this is a website where posts are made on a myriad of topics related to beer including opinions on how it tastes. When I reviewed this beer on 3/1/17 I fricking loved it. New batch – not so much. At $10 a bottle and all the hype I expected more.

Going back several years, KS has always had a huge batch variance which is why I stopped gambling my money on it. As much as I love Sosus you can occasionally get batches of that, too, that are very underwhelming.

Just kidding around. I enjoyed it, but it’s definitely not worth the price. None of these $10+ IPA bombers are.

Picked up a 4 pack of the new Sue cans. Really, really impressed and going back to get more. Any idea on the canning date? Didn’t see anything on the cans or the packaging it came in.

Toppling Goliath confirmed on Twitter it was the Dec 13/14 timeframe.

12/4 King Sue vs. 12/11 King Sue. The latter is a much lesser batch - the mouth feel, juicy flavors, hop profile, and look are so much different than something bottled just 7 days prior. Weird.

I had a 12/11 & thought it was SUPER dry, not very tropical/fruity & very disappointing.

Figured I was just a negative Nelly, but your post has me speaking up. I've had King Sue once before & thought it was very tasty, but that 12/11 batch was a major turn-off.

I'm right there with you. The 12/4 bottle I opened reminded me of earlier batches I traded for - really juicy, tropical, citrus-y, and a great mouth feel. The 12/11 bottle I opened wasn't juicy or tropical, and the mouth feel was very crisp, and somewhat harsh.
