Looking for a recommdation for reasonably accurate app to find beers on tap. Looking for BC variants on tap around Chicago tonight or early on NYE.

Try beermenus.com usually works good for me. Uses your GPS (location)

There will be noise with people checking in bottles but Untappd check ins as well as bar menus within the app could help

Beermenus and Untappd would be the two best

Hey, just to let everyone know about World of Beers in Naperville. They had a Goose Island event today from 1 - 6. Everything from this years lineup was there... except BCS Reserve. 8 oz pours for $16 each for every variant except BCS which was $14. The kicker.... you got a raffle ticket for each can of food you brought for charity. The raffle was for the right to purchase bottles of BCS from this year as they had a case of each variant to raffle at 6 p.m. What WOB didn't tell you was the cost of the beer to purchase.... check this out. $60 for Prop, $60 for reserve, and $35 for Coffee were the cost of each from the people around us that won. What a joke to soak everyone there for max profits.... never again.

Actually, I'm told Reserve was sold for $75 and Northwoods for $60..... lol. World of Beers... how about World of Max Profits.... hope Goose Island is made aware of these shenanigans.

Honestly, it wouldn't bother me at all if they weren't doing this under the pretense of helping charity.

"Come, bring some food for the homeless...and as a reward, you can pay secondary market prices for some beer."

I’m not sure I buy into that. I love the idea of helping charity, but they could charge MSRP and still help the charities the exact same amount. Combine those bottle prices with the draft prices, and this place seems a bit shady.

    What did Prop retail for?

If you buy a bottle of wine at a restaurant you can expect to pay 2-3 times the cost of retail. Why should beer be different?

I think Prop was $23-25 retail.

If those bottles were for onsite consumption, I could see your argument. I was led to believe those bottles were sold as retail to go bottles, though. I wasn’t there, so I can’t say that with certainty.

In the past, these have been 'to-go'. At least that was the case last time I was there for this event (in 2015).

Anyone else know if Local Option is doing their NYE bottle sale today? Talked to a bartender last week and he read off a list of what they're selling. Here now and surprised to not see anyone. I know they haven't posted on social or their webpage, but that could also be a new move.

$2/ounce for draft pours is shady when MSRP for bottles of the variants runs approximately $1.50/ounce?

I will agree the bottle prices are high, though I would pay $35 for the Coffee.

Does anyone have the MSRP for each beer in this year's lineup? I know it was posted somewhere in this thread, but I can't find it.

Page 39 of this thread. $24.99 for Prop and Northwoods, $25.99 for Reserve at Binny's.

Love how you guys get so worked up over pricing. You do realize this is beer and we live in 'Merica, right?

I think Croush was referring more so to the high bottle prices IF you won a right to purchase them at those high prices.

As for variant draft prices, … maybe for Prop and Northwoods it's fine, but BC Green Pepper '17 was $15 for a bottle at Binny's. For a 16.9oz bottle that is $0.87/oz. World of Beer in Naperville was charging $16 for 8oz pour, which comes out to $2/oz or $33.80 for a bottle. Bit excessive… and let's not even get into the price of the regular 8oz pour for $14 (Binny's price was $12 for a bottle).

If this was all going to charity, yeah, that's fine…. But like Crouch, I have serious doubts.

Where would mother capitalism be without the heroes, hiding in the corners of the Internet, lurking to the tune of 9 posts in 3 years, ever-ready to spring to her defense with a sick burn directed at the naysayers?

Croush said "Combine those bottle prices with the draft prices, and this place seems a bit shady.". Reread my post, I referred to the variant draft pricing. Agree to disagree on the Coffee, it is one of my favorites and would pay $35 for a bottle any day of the week.

I made a point that outside the Prop and Northwoods (on draft), the other 3 on draft seem overpriced a good bit (especially the regular). I agree with him completely that when you take into account the bottle prices, it's quite a price tag for it all. If most of it went to charity, I'd have no issues… but I'm just not so sure it is.
