I've been wondering about this the past couple days but haven't heard anything

Bartender I spoke to seemed pretty confident about it. Listed off prop, other BCBS variants, jester king, BA Prairie. Seems odd that he spoke in great lengths about it and then it's not happening.

Well looks like I was lied to/misled. A little disappointed with LO on that one. I understand they didn't confirm it on social, but why spread false information to people that frequent your business?

 

Get some Cafe Deth, it's so damn good that I barely prefer BCBCS over it.

 

Anyone in the NW suburbs still wanting to try 2017 Prop, Lucky Monk in South Barrington just tapped it. An awesome place in general, but here's one more reason to go. NOW! Happy New Year, everyone!

The bartender was probably recently hired from Binnys...

 

Just a little odd how confident he was. Never looked at the LO dudes as rude or fucking around with customers. Probably won't be visiting in a while.

 

I noticed they haven't updated their IG in a while and their draft list on Untappd is old...usually they update weekly/daily.

 

Maybe they delayed it because of the cold weather? Kind of heartless to have people lining up in dangerously cold temps..

 

Could be. That's why I was also holding out hope while waiting in my car that they would post it on social right at open.

It's also odd how the bartender today seemed unphased by bringing up what the other told me. Figured he would at least mentioned it was delayed or say it's happening at another time. What if I wasn't local and drove in from WI or MI?

 

I wonder if they are struggling. I like going there, but on a Fri or Sat night they are never busy. Always empty bar stools or tables. I know when they have their big blow out events there are lines, but the rest of the time they aren't that busy. If they own the building that helps but I with their recent lack of social media posting I wonder if something is up. Pure speculation tho

 

Side note: difficult time to be in the craft beer bar business with the proliferation of brewery taprooms. I feel for those guys and gals

 

Yeah I hope they do well but its rare to have a bar open as long as they have nowadays.

 

This could be a considerable thread in the main forum. If it isn’t already. I bet it’s tough for a place that doesn’t have something else as a draw. (The new Beer Temple bar is also a bottle shop, a place like Hopleaf has a Belgian focus).
