And unfortunately sounding good doesn’t cut it for OH stouts

Not to complain - but while the beer scene is miles better in NYC these days, when it comes to stouts I think we’re still lacking pretty heavily

With the exception of Creamies I think OH's Stouts have been decent to pretty good this year, BA Orbit w/ Coffee and Coconut was excellent. But I agree that there is a dearth of good stouts in NYC as well as sours.

Haha for sure there are a couple of exceptions. That’s definitely one. As is their hawk and whale collab. But overall I just think there should be more quality options. If there were then you wouldn’t get people running round grabbing $40 bottles of CBS on release day when several weeks later you can still find it at/close to MSRP

BA ambassador + variants have been available for weeks and they are all incredible.

to break up the monotony of my OH ipa NYE tasting party here at the house, i cracked open a can of Bible Belt imperial stout (evil twin/prairie). Holy moly that was delicious. I remember having the OH super nugget stout a few winters ago and being slightly underwhelmed. What's a few of the best stouts OH has offered thus far?

I thought Short, Dark, and Wired was their best stout to date, and Smokescreens and Oil Slicks is really underrated. The collabs are really hit or miss, and I don't think they've done a good BA stout yet (haven't tried every single one, but at least one variant of all those they've bottled).

People are sleeping on Velvet Magnum -- One of their best stouts to date IMO. The nose was pretty boozy from the cognac barrels, but damn did it have an explosion of flavors.

I've been really curious about this but DAMN them for never putting this shit on tap or even offering bottle pours at some ridiculous price so we can try it before buying it. Mostly I've held back because of that pineapple- how does it express in the taste if at all? My only reference is Pascall's Pineapple Lumps which I find strangely addictive.

Does the lack of comments here and on Instagram mean the citra is/was a fairly chill affair

Semi Serious Question - Is there a reason people post "Just take my money" on basically every OH post these days? Is it a line from a movie or something?

Whenever I read the take my money line in my head I can't tell whether it should be said in a sad, angry, or happy type of way

Let's not forget the BA stout with chocolate, peanuts, vanilla, chilies, cinnamon, marshmallows, whole candy bars, toffee etc

One think I found when I was at OH was the Veldrijden Love Farmhouse ales. They were both fantastic. People must be sleeping on these. Only available to DRINK in the taproom. Andre said they did not release them because they were afraid of any gushers causing an uproar on Social Media. For 9 bucks... definitely worth every penny.
