I make a handful of trades per year when I travel for work. I always feel like I'm a little over my head. I gather there are more frequent traders who are active here, so I thought I'd query your collected wisdom: what trades well in other markets?

I was pleasantly surprised to learn that Bent Paddle Double Shot/Double Black is desired enough to even have it's own acronym, but beyond that, Darkness, and Abraxas, I'm often at a loss about when it might be worth picking up an extra bottle of something to trade.

Toppling Goliath stouts have as much trade value as probably any beer out there. Central Waters limited stuff seems to have a lot of value as well. Up and comers like Pulpit Rock, Forager, and Barrel Theory seem to be getting more buzz.

Lift Bridge BA Silhouette, Central Waters Black Gold & anniversaries, Steel Toe BA Wee Heavy, Indeed's Rum King for out of staters. Some special limited releases of Dangerous Man. Hammerheart's Imperial Longship.

Do you have specific beer(s) you are trying to acquire? If not, I would suggest doing some "locals 4 locals" or $4$ trades. Establish some good trading partners around the country. Your established trade partners will tell you what they want, and it might not be what you expect or even want to drink. The "whales" will come and go, but sharing in the hobby, surprising people with beers (and getting surprised by a box on your porch) is worth more than chasing for me.

Has anyone traded BA Sillhouette? Wondering what kind of value they got from it since I have bottles from the last 3 years that I would be willing to part with for out of state stuff I haven't tried yet. I am also fairly new or reintroducing myself to the trade scene, since the last time I made a trade it was probably 2009-10 and Surly Wet was the beer people wanted from me.

Here is a link to a query in the completed trades forum...looks like it has traded 1:1 with Black Gold and VR. I'd say that it has some value. Personally, I have traded some 1:1 for the CW anniversary beers.

Thanks for the help, like I said I am reintroducing myself into the trade world and didn't think to just search the forum for past trade threads. Surprised how well it trades after browsing your link.
