Give them away to friends when you have them over, give them to co workers, throw them away. Who cares?

I accept them. Just like when you dont like food visiting relatives.....you eat it anywa . All you can do is drink it, cook it or dump it. Its just beer.

To be fair to your friends and relatives, that there covers a huge majority of craft beers!

Why do I have a feeling that these are the beers that I drink on a regular basis?

As I was reading your post, I was thinking that you’ve been around here long enough to know what the responses will be already... and then at the end you revealed this to be the case. Not sure what else you can expect to gain. How about opening them all up and filling the bathtub for a nice beer bath? If you do, be sure to note the bathtub lacing for your review.

Look on the bright side - all beer is such an excellent gift anyway:

    1. You can drink it or toss it and then it’s gone! It’s not like a tacky ceramic cat statue that your relative gives you and then expects to see displayed in your house for every future visit for eternity.

    B. Trying something that you ordinarily wouldn’t is an essential part of widening one’s appreciation of beer... be it a style you normally don’t drink or a beer that you consider to be of low quality. Yin and yang.

What is the problem Having no beer is a problem. You might even find that you like some of them, and at least they offer you variety.

OP, you must be too picky. I take the approach that all brewers produce good beer and have reasonable QC so that there is no beer that makes it to the bottle/can stage and is on a store shelf that is bad enough for me NOT to drink it. Sure, if it is an IPA that is dated a year ago, I may drain pour it, but I'll taste it first. If it is a beer that is infected, I'll drain pour it too, but not before I taste it to see if I might like it in its infected stage. If it is a style that I have not had before and I think that I might not like it, I'll at least taste it as a learning experience before I give it to Mr. Sink.

If you trade then you can use them as extras (assuming they are semi-local and not something that your partner has sitting on their shelves).

Can you name the beers so we can see if you're being completely unreasonable?

Save it for occasions when you've had a few and want just one more. You won't be wasting a "good" beer on a worn palate, but you can still slowly sip on a beer. That is what I do. If I'm at home watching the game, I'll have two or three "good" beers. Then I'll break into one I don't care for as much if someone gifts it to me.

My sister got me a one-time trial for Hopsy, where you get growlers delivered via mail. For some reason I decided to order the growlers at a time I was already stocked with beer, and though the beer that came is fine, it's all stuff I can buy in a store here.

Next time I host a poker game I'll just let everybody have at 'em.

Being in the northern part of the USA, I would say place in snowbank and invite people over for a rando-beer party!

It takes a lot more effort to provide a quality review on a bad beer, and that's why I welcome bad beer from time to time. I'm not talking about infected "bad" beer, just beer that isn't well made. It provides a unique and interesting twist on pushing your beer reviewing skills.

And the rest goes down the drain after that review is written.

Happened to me with wine, regarding friends who don't drink wine themselves. So now, I have established, when you try to give me wine but don't know anything about it and give me something I cannot stand, be prepared for critique.

Use what you can for cooking? Mix beers and experiment?

This was a big issue for me and people meant well but I would end up with IPAs that were a year old and lots of beers I didn't like so I had to start telling people to stop buying me beer or I would give them very specific suggestions.
