I was gonna mention Grimm as well.

I will say that Other Half made some really good lagers this year, I feel like people really slept on the Bellwoods/Evil Twin collab, that was a really solid helles and the cans stuck around for like a month! Crystal Waves was a solid pilsner and Watch it Fall Slowly was kinda like a session IPL. I hope they do more next summer so I can stock up.

Those are great, but I'm talking more about non-ba stouts. The Ambassador cans were priced well, but ba stouts in general are too expensive to drink regularly.

I slept on Prophets of Rage for whatever reason and didn't try it until on draft at the end of November. I think if a brewery puts out a non-ipa the lesson learned is to load up because something similar isn't coming in two weeks.

I'm hoping that when Grimm opens their brewery they try canning some of their sour series.

I forgot about a great value can that might be nycish, Even More Jesus. $12-14 for a 4 pack of 16oz cans! Only complaint there is the 12% abv.

That's fair. I really enjoy Other Half's Short & Dark series, but they're releases are few and far between. I would also love if they canned Super Nugget. That was the first OH stout that I had and I was blown away by it.

This would be great. Even if they just did the Pop and Going series in cans then I would be over the moon. I love those beers, but a 750 ml bottle of them is tough to drink even when they're pretty low on ABV.

Man it seemed like I was the only one drinking that Helles at the taproom. It was definitely a solid beer, very surprised with OH on that one.

I've actually been really craving pilsners lately, the DDH and 8.5 DIPA cans are just wearing me out. Would prefer 2-3 solid 4.5-5% pilsner and one DDH OH beer than 1-2 DIPA's.

Sounds like you missed Biëryoncé. Also fresh cans of Metric are usually available. I'd love it if Suarez cans made their way down here once in a while.

Having hit EQ, HBV, and OH all in about 24 hours a few weeks ago, I've gotta say that Interhalf and Feel No Way, Hudson's house pils, were excellent. Both were so drinkable and clean on the palate. Both beers you could have 3-4 of in a sitting and walk away fine which is exactly as the style was intended. I think OH would be well served to have a house pils like Interhalf always on draft in their lineup.

As long as we're on the pils/lager discussion, I found a 6 pack of Saranac Haus Lager pounders upstate a few weeks back. Damn good and only 4.9%.

    Definetly one to check out.

A few buddies and I opened a Maple Creamies last night. WOW!!! I went into a diabetic coma after the first sip. Way too sweet. We ended dumping most of it.

I think they couldn't sell it all so they gave some of it to Underwest Donuts to make Maple Creamies donuts and were giving them away at the Triangle Test release. I still have no idea why I bought a bottle, it was way too sweet when I had it on draft way back last March.

In terms of IPA's, I have to say batch 2 of Green Power needed some time. Drinking amazing right now, some real nice ripe tropics coming through.

In the past I've said criticized people for lining up either it be the Monkish/Trillium collab or if it was downpouring etc. for example

If people line up tomorrow morning, we have a problem here.

I hear you, but unfortunately there will still most definitely be a line as the mules/ resellers will always be there early- as already noted in a few FB groups...

Absolutely will be a line. It is enjoyable to see the peeps on line without the necessary gear, be it umbrella, gore tex, snowsuit. Tomorrow could be interesting, the temp/windchill at 7 am can definetly cause medical issues.

I bet the little guy with the cart will be first in line. He was the 2 days i was there before Christmas and for the release on the 28th. I can only assume he sells it in his store.

It is. The website periodically gives pop-up reminders that trades are only permitted on the trade forums. :astonished:
