I've never seen Other Half sold in a store, which is actually kind of surprising. Maybe the stores that do keep it in the back unless asked, to mitigate the risk being caught breaking the law?

I can understand some people not liking it because it is sweet but I liked it. Besides, there are people who drink the HF bourbon barrel aged maple syrup straight up and this is less sweet than that. :stuck_out_tongue:

    Yeah, that's not true.

I haven't either, but I saw somebody on reddit comment that their only time having OH they bought it at a bottle shop in Nassau County. For a while I was skeptical that was actually happening, but I guess it is real.

I feel like it could be how some cigar stores have Cubans in the back for the regulars.

So where did the Maple Creamies for the Maple Creamies donuts come from then?

I was referring to the statement "I think they couldn't sell it all so..."

The beer was selling and I waited too long to buy some more. The staff told me it sold at a constant rate. They didn't have to give the bottles away. That's what was not true.

I've seen it a couple times in Brooklyn, but was in the early can days when there was a very limited, sanctioned distribution

Ah ok, I just assumed that might've been the case since if they were going to sell out I would think they would just keep selling bottles rather than do a collab with Underwest.

Definitely real. When I worked on LI there was a bottle shop I would go to that regularly had cans for $11 1pp. Of course they always sold out quickly.

OH certainly can afford to trade bottles for donuts or even good karma.

You find cans for sale at bars and stores in the suburbs outside of OH's usual distribution footprint: Nassau, Suffolk, New Jersey.

Those people you see filling up vans every Saturday aren't "just sharing with my friends, man."

Odds of hypersleep bottles making it until 1/17 or 1/18? Coming in from Chicago then and would love to bring some back. I know it's hard to say but based on similar past bottles?

Only way it lasts that long is if the beer isn't good and so far ratings have been average to above average for OH stouts.....that being said, they have 20 taps at the brewery and growler fills, so you won't go home empty handed...

5.981% - I would recommend cancelling your trip personally

Edit - serious answer - what @bgold86 said - you'll walk away happy regardless

Appreciate the responses. I figured odds were slim but didn't know how long their releases typically last. Do they fill growlers of any beer they have on tap?

Not all of what they have but still plenty - and almost always that will include the most recent canned hoppy release(s)

Yes, I know Gold Star Beer Counter sold Mosaic/Motueka cans some time ago... but I gotta imagine that was an above-board distro decision

Good Beer got Green Diamonds cans like a year or so ago I seem to recall and then I think a bunch of places got Meek Millet bottles.

Same deal with St. Gambrinus and City Swiggers, however cans making it along keg distribution map is exceedingly rare, maybe one each per year. however bottles that don't move, like Meek Millet, went to almost all those stores.

Ah I remember hanging out in Good Beer when Meek Millet was placed on their "That New New" shelf by the cashier. Some guy walks in with his girlfriend shopping for beers and spots the bottle. He tells her, "Oh man they have Other Half here! You gotta try Other Half! They're the best!" He shortly buys the bottle.

I loved his enthusiasm, but I'm not sure if I would've gone with that beer to introduce someone new into Other Half though.
