Superior Beverage distro in Columbus, OH has screwed over everyone and is apparently holding their cases for no reason.

Fingers crossed we get this sometime next week!

I'm curious how this is going to be after being cellared a year or so. I have read wildly disparate accounts of how High Westy aged, but I do think this will probably be good in a year. Some guy on Reddit claimed High Westy took on a green pepper taste after 6 months, but I find that fairly laughable.

Well...not quite. $12.99 is the best I've seen in Philly.

I meant for Minnesota. I paid $14.99 plus tax in Harrisburg.

Lighter roasted coffee can smell like green pepper easily
I've tasted some aged (2yr+) stouts with coffee that got a bit of this note

I think you are misreading the comment, it might slightly smell or slightly taste like something reminding you of green peppers, it's not going to knock you over and taste like nothign but. Btw green pepper shows up in Sauvignon Blanc wines (acceptable but not preferred) and even can show up in Cabernet Saugvignon or Cab Franc (most would consider green pepper to be a flaw in a red wine.

I bought 3 sixers for $9.49 at a local grocery store a couple of weeks ago, the last on the shelf. I went back the next day and apparently that's all they had. It was cheaper than their pix sixes. Had to be an Oops on someone's part.

I got green pepper taste in year-old FBS. Always a risk when aging coffee beers.

I did not misread the comment. He called it "jarring and completely out of style" and urged everyone to drink their High Westies while they were fresh.

I ended up with 3 cases after locally trading older cellar stuff $4$ for it.

The worst thing about this beer is that its going away too fast! I wish i had 3 more cases.

This has been a fantastic beer, solid flavors and the price was great.

I have a serious question. If Lagunitas (Heineken) can charge $12 for something like this, how come others can't/won't?

What really baffles me is how breweries like trilium/tree house could charge $20-$25 for a 4-pk when they don't have to share any profit with the distributors/retailers.
