Give them to homeless people. They will really appreciate it.

I’ve thrown away beers bought as a 6 pack just a couple times and only after I tried one, discovered I didn’t like it, and it sat for months without anyone who visited my house wanting to drink it either. If that’s your situation, yeah just throw it away.

If it’s singles and you haven’t tried them, I really just don’t understand the mentality of being completely unwilling to try something (unless you’re allergic to an ingredient).

The randomnity of what you're describing sounds fun. I wish I had this "problem."

I like Backwoods Bastard, very solid beer .. Give it a try. I'm a stout guy myself, but found myself buying a couple extra 4 packs after trying it.

Give it away, drain pour it, or nut up and chug it. Those are your options.

Damn! Excellent idea! I wish someone would have thought of this when I was an undergrad. But then, all we had available were AALs and imports like Heiniken. If there is to be a committee, count me in!

I propose folks drop off their beer on my porch and I shall see to-it that the beer ends up in the deserving hands of 21+ year old college kids.

I'll tax as I see fit for my service.

LOL you could begin a beer consumption service. People just drop off their beers and you will dispose of them in a proper drinking manner... :stuck_out_tongue:

I've never considered myself much of a business man, but I think I could run that business smoothly.

I'd imagine my friends list would go through the roof too.

I received 2 non-alcool beer from my landlord because he doesn't drink beer, so it doesn't taste as good as a regular beer. So to improve things, I decided to mix it with a little bit of rum and while I can't say it made the beer tastier, at least I was a little more drunk!

Boy howdy, some of you are certainly stretching things to make me sound like an OCD beer snob.

Glider, I hope you're not the kind of BA that complains about the date on an IPA. I've posted about drinking out-of-date IPAs and found them quite tasty. I've also posted about liking Trader Joe's private label beers, like Boatswain, which generally gets panned big time on this site.

Maybe you just didn't read carefully, so here is my statement on peanut butter flavoring:
"...chocolate peanut brittle. I don't need or want to try the latter type because I don't like flavorings in beer. About the only time I eat peanut butter is occasionally on toast (not in candy or desserts) so sure as shootin' I'm not going to drink a beer with peanut butter flavor in it."

Get it? I don't like peanut butter flavor. I rarely eat peanut butter at all. I don't even like chips cooked in peanut oil---I can taste the peanut flavor. Don't need to try the beer to know I won't like it.

Apparently there are absolutely no beer styles you won't drink. Good for you! Really---good for you.

This. Brought some unwanted/old craft to a cookout last summer and I overheard more than one group say, "omg look, it's real beer not that bud light crap!" aaaand problem solved. Free beer is seldom a bad thing.

Turning down free beer (pale ale, lager, etc.) because it isn't good enough for your standards isn't being snobby?

I've had Yankee thriftiness bred into me, so the idea pains me, but hey, if you'd rather go buy something you like better rather than drink what you have in hand, more power to you.

@5thOhio, I have no issue with you knowing you won't like a certain beer that emphasizes a flavor you don't like when it is not in beer. But, understand, you are on a site where there are people who think a beer that tastes like cat piss or a sweaty old horse blanket is GOOD! :astonished:

And, that's me, right there... especially if it is free! :sunglasses:

What makes your beer good and others' cat piss or sweaty old horse blankets?

It was a lighthearted comment; but, the description comes from those describing the "good" beer, not me.

Just to reinforce what @MNAle said. This site has a number of folks, some of whom come and go, others who've been here a while, who routinely refer to beers such as AALs as "cat piss" or "swill."

Been hearing those comments, and the unlying snobbery they represent, for years.

I may have overreacted (happens), but seeing that shit for face value gets me all worked up. If people describe a good beer, it's good to them. I need to make a new rule not to log on until after 0830. Getting to work and checking / commenting on forums at 0520 is causing me grief. Haha. All good.

The lightheartedness was little too subtle and indirect for written communication, even with the smiley. Had to read it at least 3 times before figuring out what you were saying.
