Can't find locals for locals

A few suggestions -- if you set limits, I strongly recommend sticking to them. All it takes is for the first delivered box to be triple the predefined limit for everything to fall apart. And while sending (and receiving) the beer is obviously the highlight, the more involved people are in giving (and trying to figure out) hints the better. So go into this thinking "this is a fun game giving clues and figuring out clues and sending under-the-radar good beer, and getting good stuff is just a bonus", and everyone will be happy.

And if whoever is running this feels overwhelmed or needs help, give a yell.

And oh yeah -- single digit temperatures in the Northeast would definitely suggest waiting a while to do this...

 

just wanted to post here as I have not done a beer it forward yet, but Buffalo NY and Rochester area have decent stuff and I would be happy to local for local trade anytime.

Count me in on local for local trades, I kinda gave up on the ISO:FT forum, since I'm not a guy that gets rare stuff (now that you can get Mexican Cake all over) and I don't get most of the acronyms and abbreviations, I've stayed away, but I still love to trade

 

I'm loving this guys! Let's plan to start one up mid February-march when the weather starts warming up a bit and shipping isn't too dangerous. Looking forward to what seems to be most of our first BIFs!!

 

You guys will NOT regret this. If you end up doing a BIF, whoever ends up running it, please feel free to ask if you need any help. And if you don't think you're geographically diverse enough, I can probably recruit some help. I'm having fun just waiting for this to happen.

 

Hey, just an update...I'm planning on starting this soon. Have gotten a few messages, so I'll make sure to tag all of you as well. There will be three weeks or so to sign-up and then another month before boxes need to be shipped which will put us around March which should be good to ship.

@Mikexw I appreciate the offer and may take you up on it. I've been in a couple so I should be okay, but if you'd have fun doing so, we could definitely work on it together.

 

This sounds really fun and like a great way to try new beer/meet some good folks. I'd definitely be interested in participating..... just curious what kind of $ limits will be set. I have limited means.

 

Working on all that currently. It will have a strict minimum and maximum ounces limit so no one will feel like they have to go overboard or feel guilty they didn't.
