What 2017 beers are going in your cellar to age?
What was Picked or “Demmed Worthy” of cellaring from 2017?
    Here’s mine to start.

I got a couple black note stouts and a couple 120 minute ipas to start my cellar. It's my first attempt at not drinking the beer right away, so we'll see how my restraint is. I'm sure I'll come up with something else to save too, but it's hard when everything ageable is already tasty...

I guess I'm throwing a couple barrel aged cherry stouts from bells in the cellar too. Too much cherry and little else in the flavor. I may mix one with a coffee heavy stout to see if it saves it.

Bigfoot, Narwhal, Expedition, 120 Minute, a few random barleywines, Backwoods Bastard, and Schlafly BBA Stout. I don't age BA stuff more than 6-9 months anymore and then only if they're too boozy fresh, because I find the barrel characteristics nearly always fall off too much before the aspects that make aged barleywines and stouts great have time to develop. My small fridge "cellar" is basically just a bunch of barleywines, a few imperial stouts, Double Bastard, 120 Minute, Orval and a few quads.

    I’ve got a 2017 Fullers vintage
to add to the 2016 I was saving for my 45th in 13 months
& a 2015 That was a secret Santa & might be drank instead.

I also have a question about bottle ageing/cellaring
I’ve just picked up a local
    (Manchester England Blackjack)
    Pumpkin Saison
the style would say to me drink now as it’s obviously a leftover from Halloween
but barrel aged with brettanomyces which says to me age
but as well has ingredients of peppercorns & chilli flakes which also says to me drink now.
    Any thoughts?

I would drink soon, as only one aspect might improve. The rest of the beer will only go down hill imo.

    Cheers!

CBS. I drank one when it was released and I will drink 1 at 3 months, and 1 at 6 months, and if they are falling off with the coffee I will drink them faster.

Breakfast stout and bigfoot which I buy some of every year.

Bruery 12 days series. I buy 2, drink 1 and age one to do a vertical eventually. I have the last 5

Intentionally or unintentionally? On purpose I stocked up on BCBS, Surly Darkness, Abyss, Black Note, and some barleywines I am forgetting the name of. Hopefully enough to try a couple for the next few years.

There's been too many great beers this year so I've certainly bought more than I can drink. Thus many of them are going to be cellared until I can catch up. Hopefully make a decent dent before next stout season!

The only thing I have that I am intentionally aging is Bells Expedition Stout, KBS, and CBS. I have enough of it that I can crack one open every 3, 6, 12 months to taste.

I had a vertical of JW Lees recently, 2001, 2007, 2014. The 2001 had no oxidation at all. The style is a little sweet for my taste but I'd check those out.

    I am aging the following

    Bells Expedition
    Founders Imperial Stout (RIP)
DFH 120 Minute, World Wide Stout, Bitches Brew
GI Bourbon County Brand Stout & Barleywine
    Founders KBS
    Bells Black Note
    Bells 30th

    Goose Island Sours

I'm sorry are you aging TH and Trill hops? Did I read that correctly? Was this a mistake?

Apologies for the confusion...I typically use them as trading beer for other ageable beers.

I just realized how dumb that list looks

I do know someone though who lives close to Tree House and has the luxury of testing how their IPAs hold up after a year, for curiosity's sake.

Well better get trading because I'd be pretty pissed if I got an aged Tree House or Trillium IPA

Yeah I have had a Treehouse IPA a year after canning and the quality still held up, but yes there are trades in progress.

The 2017 is already drinking well, perhaps the best of the past few years. I have a 7 year vertical coming up that I've been looking forward to.
